With Battlespire, open up a commandline window and chdir into the cd. Then type 'INSTALL /F C' - It'll install it into C:\BATSPIRE. :) /F forces the install without checking anything.

Start > Run > "cmd" > "cd C:\" > "[CD Drive letter]:" (ex: D:) > "INSTALL /F C" and that will install it

To quote from 'install.txt' on the cdrom where this information is found:

Forced Install Readme
---------------------

This file is for when you can not get the game to install using the
installer. If you have tried using the installer and it fails to
install the game for some reason, you can still install the game
forcefully by following this procedure:

1) Run the installer with the /f option. You will need to specify
the drive letter you want to install the game onto. For example
a typical forced install command would look something like:

INSTALL /F C

2) Run SETSOUND.EXE inside C:\BATSPIRE\MSS and set up your sound card,
where 'C:' is the drive letter you installed the game onto.

Note: When using forced install to install the game, it will not check
to make sure you have enough availble space for it. Make sure you do
have at least 200 MB of free space on your hard drive before installing
the game.

Hit the "/" key?
Above AltGr and right one?
Did I mis-interpret the question?

There's a \ key, not to be confused with the / key. It's under Backspace on my keyboard. You'll have to look for it on yours but it should be around there somewhere.

And, oh yeah, welcome to thw wonderful world of DOS simulation. But if you think DOSBOX is bad you shoulda seen the real thing!

There should be a number of lines that appear in the commandline box. What does it say after you enter all that?
