In the bottom right of my desktop it says:

Windows 7
Build 7600
This copy of Windows is not genuine

I just noticed it because it most definitely wasn't there before. My laptop came with 7, so I'm not sure what's going on.
Anyone?

edit: Wow I just right clicked computer and went to look at it's properties then the thing in the bottom right disappeared. :mellow:

Two possibilities:

1. The OEM (the company) that you bought your computer from is some small company that is using pirated versions of Windows (unlikely)

2. Microsoft's validation software and/or servers goofed up yet again, invalidating your copy of Windows (very likely)

Either way, call up MS and tell them what happened and what company produced your laptop.
