Bike Tire

How does one drain air from a bike tire? does it drain if you just remove the cap, and if not do yo need a tool of some sort? Or can you just apply pressure to the cap after removing the seal?

Depends on the type of nipble you have on your tire.

Grab a flat-head screw driver and push the little rod in the nozzle to the side. Or just put a hole in it.

I wanna drain the tire without damaging it, so that it can be filled again. Its a schwinn and has special tires to acquiring a new tire that would fit would be a pain.

Obligatory giggling at the word "nipble"

:hehe:

Yeah pretty much this

Though I wouldn't recommend putting a hole in it especially if you're gonna use it again ;)

I'm not planning on using it again. However I'm pretty sure I might P.O. my dad's girlfriend if I stab a hole in her son's bike tire.

If you take a bike pump and hook it onto the nipble (yes, that is what it's called, so stuff it) and don't turn the switch, it'll release the air.

Bicycle tires are almost all standard in terms of them, so you should be fine.

No, it's kind of a spur of the moment thing because I'm at my parents place and I don't know where they keep their tools.

I'm guessing this isnt so innocent.

Anyways, you can use anything pointy/small enough to go into the hole.

You're first mistake was owning a schwinn. I'm sorry to hear that.

No, the valve on the bike tire is either http://www.sheldonbrown.com/images/valvesch.gif or http://www.sheldonbrown.com/images/valveprc.gif.

It being innocent depends on your perspective. I'm twenty and he's thirteen. He's your stereotypical Jerry Springer kid who won't do what he's told, mostly because his mother is never home and refuses to ever punish him. Since I can't accost him I have to find more creative ways to punish him when he won't do what his older sisters say, and he is not behaving. Right now the only thing I can think of is draining the air out the of the bike I gave him, since he's already grounded from everything else.

Closed. We're not going to give advice on how to do something malicious. You're well advised to drop the whole thing before you end up on the wrong side of a family confrontation.
