Construction Set Interface Changes

Hey!

There are a few limitations in the CS that don't quite make sense to me.
I suppose Bethesda has better things to do than work on a four years old Editor, but I thought I'd give it a shot anyway. If anything, perhaps TES V will benefit off this.

1 - Make the windows resizeable - not the main three ones, but the ones like "Factions", "Race" etc.
Most of them have columns that could easily do with being wider but there's no way to do that. And it's a really easy thing to change from your end.

2 - Kind of in line with the above, why on earth is the FaceGen Editor so small? What's the reasoning behing that?

That's all I have so far. If anyone else has suggestions, just drop them in here. It would be good to know what people would like to see improved/optimised.

Cheers!

An OBSE plugin could be written to provide a fix for the first ( and perhaps the second ) in all probability - Hook at the corresponding dialog's creation, grab its handle and send a message that allows resizing (assuming there is one, of course). Won't be of much use unless the child controls are docked too.

It always made me wonder... for something where form IDs are so dang important for almost everywhere they're possible, why are they all contracted to small little slits or hidden like they are? Don't care much about the window sizes, but it seems like I'm always expanding the columns so that important data is shown. Just venting.

You mean the window itself would resize but the content wouldn't? Yeah, I don't think that would help very much. Do you suppose it could be done so you could actually resize each of the child controls as well? Like Vagrant was saying, columns are really the main reason this would be handy.

One thing that would be really handy is a way to auto generate Pathgrids (or Nav Meshes) in Interior cells. It's a serious pain to pathgrid (or nav mesh) a large interior.

Especially 1 has always been a huge annoyance. In windows generally really - those fixed properties windows are plain stupid.
Apart from the absence of shortcuts ( ) and focus back (in next release) which I try to correct in my "mod" (which also maximizes wins - those you mention cannot be, from me at least), how about dungeon building :flame: why the ***** there is no default z-coordinate when one drops pieces in the render window ? there was a thread even, where someone was sure he had seen the setting someplace - in a nice dream I guess
