Will you STOP EATING already?!?

Post » Fri Jan 22, 2010 8:03 am

I have a group of npcs that all have packeges that tell them to eat for one hour, and than to go outside and walk around. But my npcs just eat and eat and eat! Shouldnt they stop after one hour? In the scedual for eating under time it says Time: 6 and Duration: 1. and in the npcs package list it has the wander package with a scedual of Time: 7 Duration: 0.

--Thanks!!!

Do the other packages have conditions that aren't met? If no other package is selectable, an NPC keeps doing the same one. And can they open the door to go outside? If it's locked and they don't own it, the outside package may not be available to them.

No, there are no conditions that have to be met in any of my packages and the door is unlocked and the npcs own the door any way

A few poison apples should take care of that!

They may also not be able to go outside if they have No Low Level Processing as part of their function. So they can't come from any leveled list.

Try adjusting the order of packages. In some cases, eating and similar useitemat type packages can be a bit persisting and should be placed lower on the list so that as soon as some other package gets to be time, they will stop that activity when their AI next updates. Try using the "once per day" flag on the packages if moving the other packages higher in the list doesn't fix it. If that doesn't work, then it is likely some issue with slow NPC processing and a manual or scripted evp may be needed.

Edit: Nevermind. I do recommend putting that wander package higher in the AI package order than the eating package.

Could it be that you have flagged ''Continue if PC near''? This flag will cause NPC's to never stop what they're doing when you are in the same cell.
