After DLCs are downloaded...

If I finish the main story and do the battle for the dam mission, will it let me continue playing afterwards like FO3 did after the DLC, thanks

No sir. When you see the credits, its over. You get a warning message before starting the final battle. Past that point, you can't do anything else.

Unless you feel like gathering the worlds largest supply of Marksmine Carbines that is.

Seriously, why so many of those weapons in the final battle? lol Look I found a sweet gun! Oh wait, I can't turn around and go back up the road towards Boulder City. Well shoot. I'll figure a way past those invisible walls one of these days!

Even if the DLCs are downloaded it's still the end, that svcks, wonder why they didn't do it like FO3?

I think they just wanted a final ending. For the story. I can see both points of view, the final ending, and being able to continue. It would be cool if it was a yes/no option, to keep playing or not.

it is, it asks you if you want to re-load a previous save.

the reason for such a definite ending is so that there are definite effects to what you do in-game, effects so large that to incorporate them into the game would be a new game in itself. every game has to have an ending at some point, and I would rather have a huge unseen impact than almost no impact at all.

I just meant after the credits. If you wanted to keep going or not. An option would be cool. I'm not heart broken by not being able to continue though. I have no beef with a final ending.

Obsidian was told they were to do 4 DLC stories. There are rumors that a 5th was planned a long time ago but time constraints got it cut out. I would have liked a post game add on, but really, if all you have to do is the Hoover Damn fight, it's the same thing.

there would be too many changes to realistically show what the mojave is like after the battle for the dam, it would practically be another game, most of the current quests would have to be removed after the dam, most of the NPCs would have to be changed if not out-right removed, there would be almost NO content in the world-space so you would be better of re-loading your save. it's just a waste of resources to go through all that effort just so that people can complain about lack of things to do when they finish the main quest-line.

They were planning on doing post-end gameplay, but Bethesda didn't give them enough time. I personally am very glad about this.

I would rather have one final ending to the game myself I don't continue playing Elder Scrolls after the final quest because what's the pont? when you keep playing it just makes the final quest have no meaning and anti climatic.

No.

Obsidian did not release a terrible lore-breaking DLC like Bethesda did with Broken Steel. The Battle for Hoover Dam is the end.
