How do I get the key for the X8 research centre in the Old World Blues DLC? It's stuck behind a blue force field in the X13 research centre, its got something to do with the sonic emitter gun, but it wont disable it. What am I doing wrong????????????

You need to find the right frequency first for the gun so it will take down force fields.. ( Should be one of the first quests )

I've heard of people using explosives on the force fields...BIDK about that.
