What you thought you'd get them for free. That's like complaining that you don't get free [censored] from HH or OWB. It adds content that still has to be acquired in game. No wonder games get dumbed down, look at the kids these days.

haha kids? I'm probably older than you, pal. I already bought the damn thing once, I don't want to have to buy it again.

EDIT: And yeah, you do get free [censored] from HH and OWB in the form of hours of gameplay.

We treat people like kids because they act like one.

And I suppose you think its awesome to be overpowered at level 4? Its a preemptive tact to avoid players from becoming too powerful so early in the game.

Though the prices are quite ridiculous if you don't have Dead Money.

They aren't too much of a problem if you are an insane scavenger, by about level 15 I had 20 000 caps, level 30 and I had a steady 50 000 caps. Being incredibly anol about scavenging can be explained with exponential growth. It starts off slow, but pretty soon you'll have more caps then you'll ever need.

At one point I had over 50 000 caps, I walked into the Silver Rush and bought the Cleansing Flame(about 20 000 caps) just so I could unload all of my scavenged gear without having to lose caps by exceeding her cap supply.

Note: Being attacked by Legion Assassins also gives a nice steady supply of caps.

I know. Before I started Dead Money on my new playthrough I had 37000 caps.

But I'm really talking about the high priced weapons such as the Bozar, Medicine Stick, Smitty Special, Two-Step Goodbye, and the Sprtel-Wood which go for over 26000 caps. Buying one of the weapons isn't that bad. Buying all five though.....

True it does take time, but I don't see any reason why you would ever to need buy all of them in one sitting. There's little chance that you'll even need to buy them all in one game.

50,000 caps? Thats nothing. Prices in Fallout and Fallout 2 are insain. (I don't know if you know that, not talking down to you) A thing of radAway is a 1000 caps alone.

I usually hate explosives, but I love busting out Esther for when I feel bored and have tons of mines I see where it takes me.

I didn't know that on account of not having played Fallout 1 or 2.

How easy is it to get caps in the first two games compared to New Vegas?

Both easier and harder. On the one hand, it's a lot harder. On the other hand, specialized builds are rewarded to the point where carrying around weapons & ammo you aren't going to use is worse than useless, so there's plenty to sell.

Gambling is probably the best way to get money, but you find yourself thanking NPCs profusely for $500 any way you slice it.

Only thing that annoys me is the price, even after getting all the gold from DM and break the bank at the casinos I still couldn't buy some of the stuff

The reason for the price is that the devs assumed (and rightfully so) that players at this point in the game would have a [censored] ton of Caps. Even if you don't have that much Caps, it's extremely easy to get a large amount of Caps in New Vegas in maybe one or two hours of gameplay. Besides, giving the entire Arsenal for free would be too OP. , and earning Caps to get the weapons is more fun (y'know, because some people actually like earning their weapons).

One exellent way to make a ton of money is before leaving the Casino in Dead Money turn all the chips into pre-war money, that plus the equipment you've scavanged can easily equal over 150,000. Then of course there is the gold bars.

It cost five hundred Styles, and you'd fine more then you'd ever possibly need, and chances are you'd need absolutely no radaway through out the entire game.

The weapons in New Vegas fully repaired tend to be comparable in value to weapons in Fallout 1&2 or more expensive, not counting the GRA weapons which are far more expensive then anything in the older games. 10mm submachine gun in New Vegas fully repaired, 2370, back in Fallout 1&2 only 1000. Gatling Laser 6800 in new vegas. Only 700 cheaper then in the original titles. The New Vegas sniper rifle is much more expensive then the 1&2 counterparts and along with a new name the plasma defender had an increase in price from the days as a Glock 86. The 10mm pistol costs nearly 750 fully repaired in New Vegas and a third of that in Fallout 1.

I like the prices on them. Gives me something to work for. Granted, they aren't worth it, but it's a nice money sink.

I spend around 500,000 caps on Ammo alone per vendor run.
These guns are nothing!

Its called balance.

Has anybody ever complained that you need to do a quest to get Archmedis II?

Or that you have to start Dead Money to get the Holorofle?

I was surprised when I got the Arsenal pack and thought this would make the game to easy. For me, I do not mind dying. The round I am playing now I had Caesar's assassin chasing me from the start, fun stuff. (Took me a long time to get enough money to be able to get a weapon that would kick their butt. A lot of running a dodging involved though.)

Being pissed that you have to spend money for them in-game is one thing, but being pissed after buying because you didn't acquire information about what you're purchasing is just plain ridiculous.
