Is the Heart of Lorkhan truly gone?

Post » Sun Jun 17, 2012 12:22 pm

I had recently replayed Morrowind and after the destruction of Dagoth Ur, I had wondered what truly happened to the Heart of Lorkhan? Since its the heard of god and fluxes with divine power, is it just buried under the now crumbled Red Mountain? Or did the lava actually destroy it? I'm new to the forums and apologize if this topic exists somewhere else -_-

Lava is Shezzar's blood, or something like that.

The heart is a part of Mundus (heart of Tamriel heart of Nirn) itself, so I'd vote buried under Red Mountain, or somewhere randomly within the Mundus.

Well, isn't the lava the blood from the heart? I don't believe the lava would destroy the heart.

EDIT: ninja'd

Vanished into the bowels of Nirn, hidden from mortals, so that the atrocities committed by it shall not be repeated.
Or on vacation. Your pick.

But really, wasn't it connected to the planet and all that the player did, was release it from it's prison? It's still floating around somewhere....

My understanding is you just banished an aspect of the heart. Like if you killed Wulf you wouldn't kill Talos. The heart is exactly where it was before.

The heart is exactly where it was before.
Which is nowhere, since it was bound there since Auriel strapped it to an arrow and shot it. I suspect the Heart is most likely still on the Mundus, but as to where...who knows.

We don't know. It's not gone or destroyed, because destroying the Heart of the World would destroy the world. The Nerevarine broke the enchantment on the Heart that kept it bound to that specific spot. The Heart of Lorkhan is now somewhere else or everywhere else. I doubt we'll ever see it again unless someone manages to bind it in one place again, and last time it took one of the greatest minds of the Dwemer to do so, so that's unlikely to ever happen.

Right! Forgot that Lorkhans heart was the cradle of Nirn. Makes sense that it would just be somewhere else or buried under the rubble. Now I wonder what happened to Sunder and Wraithguard.... I hope they reappear some how in Skyrim!

The Heart's gone with the wind.

Besides, what does a schizophrenic heart do when she's on vacation?

Bleeds where she's not, when she thinks she doesn't.

In the waning years of Star-Wounded-East-As-We-Knew-It, stupendous nirnologic subduction cannibalized Lorkhan's Heart.

KINMUNE is one of Kirkbride's more...original works. It involves a mining computer AI that went insane in the Ninth Era.

It hasn't moved at all. It's just in a different frequency now.

Azura says it was "freed", rather than destroyed. We won't know where it went unless the devs decide to have it pop up somewhere.

I'd love it if there were a connection between the Heart being freed and the Void Nights. Although the two events are almost 100 years apart IIRC.
