:fing04:  How's that?

You really need to read up on your lore before saying that, no offense and i'm not trying to flame, but something like that happening is likely to be impossible if not really really really really really really really reaaaaaaalllly slim chance of happening.

(on the plus side, chance to try out new smilies :disco:

I don't think it would necessarily have to fit lore. It coulbe a noncanon project where you simply command armies.

Personally, Age of Empires is all I need of a strategy war game. (what's the real name for it again?)

I don't see how making an Elder Scrolls version would offer anything new to that genre.

that is what i mean it doesent have to follow lore it would just be cool sending argonian archers in to attack from a distance then have nord boats come from the sea and drop loads of troops

What exactly makes this worth buying?

My question as well. There are plenty of RTS games out there. Now, if it was noncanon, there wouldn't be much of a difference between this and those. if it was canon, say ancient historical battles in TES history, we might be cooking.

I'm saying no because Halo Wars was a console's RTS for a console game. TES "started" as a PC series and only recently (Oblivion) was it made more for the console than PC. I'm not saying that an RTS would be out of the question, but I'd prefer that Bethesda sticks with what they're good at. Single player. Single Person. Big World with things to do. If Bethesda even considers doing a TESRTS, they would not set it up in the way you described. I'm sorry but the lore would not match up in any way. The potential is there, but it would have to be handled very delicately. Not to mention the amount of cleanup they'd have to do to make a sequel *shudders at the thought*.

Well, I'm sorry, but.

I think the idea of a TES RTS is good, but you've got the armies ALL wrong.

Maybe a MW-esque game with factions such as the Empire, Ashlanders, Indroil , Hlaalu, Telvanni, and Redoran. That might work. Maybe even Dres and some others.

Perhaps something classic and easy, Summerset vs. Pyandonea vs.Thras. They actually do fight it out quit commonly

I'd go with Morrowind vs. Skyrim vs. Argonia (Black Marsh) vs. Colovia vs. Nibenay vs. Summerset Isle vs. Valenwood vs. Hammerfell vs. High Rock vs. Orsinium vs. Elswyr. However, depending on when the game takes place, those factions could change. Example:
Post Infernal City: combine Nibenay & Colovia, but leave some of the areas around Anvil unclaimed; get rid of Morrowind as a faction and give mainland Morrowind to Black Marsh

Interesting, I was thinking of an Elder Scrolls RTS not long ago..

Though, I went with the Ten given races, and the Daedra/Akaviri persons would be Mercenaries, much like in AOE 3.
I believe this could work..to bad Ensemble Studios closed up shop, they're the only people I would intrust this too. They would do it justice!

All the races would retain their Racial Benefits, like in the single player games. So, Orcs would have resistence towards Magic, while the Altmer would be getting zapped left and right..

Imagine clicking on the Barracks(playing as the nords of course), and you have an option to train: A Berseker(two-handed weapon, who excels at countering other infantry), a Man-at-Arms(shielded soldier, who is decent against other melee fighters, but excels against archers), also maybe a scout unit, one thats quick and agile, maybe armed with a pole arm to defeat mounted units.

Lets say Rogue Hall? Out of this building you could train, Crossbow men(who excel against most units, but have a slow attack rate), Ranger(armed with a bow, good against infantry and light cavalry..and special ability could be to summon a wolf?), Assassin(effective against infantry, armed with duel weapons, with a poison effect, so it will kill who ever it hits, unless healed. Special would be a one hit stealth kill)

For Magi, you train either a offensive or deffensive mage. Offensive magi could be trained in Frost, Fire, Shock or Necromancy.
Necros would be able to raise any fallen person, both enemy or ally. Deffensive magi would be under Healing or Boosting allies stats.

Cavalry units could be, Mounted Achers, Light Cavalry(good against ground units), Heavy Cavalry(good vs other cavalry).

Maybe, you could ally yourself with certain Daedric Lords, and Factions!(fighters, thieves, ect)

Just some of my thoughts, but I think it could work..it would be fun in my opinion.
Though, it would have to be done right!

Cheers!

Imagination? Hm, I suppose..

Though, I do have another idea..

In the Elder Scrolls, you come across Atifacts! So, what I think would be nice is: Lets say you found..Chrysemere(however you spell it), that would then grant all your two-handed weapon units greater damage, and whatever the spell affect was..I have forgotten.
Another would be, the Lords Mail..this would grant all heavy armor units, even more armor. Also, that shield that reflects spells..I forgot the name.
But, this would grant 30%(is that correct?) Spell Reflection to all Shielded units.

Maybe finding the Masque of Clavicus Vile could give bonuses to attaining Allies..or scarring off Enemies.
Umbra would grant Magi to collect souls, for summoning various creatures.

Someone was talking about what Province this could take place, and I don't think it needs a province..just Maps, with different settings.
A map editor would be brilliant!
As for Story-Line..well, that doesn't much matter to me, I always play via the Skirmish Mode..

So, I have no thoughts story-wise.

I'm getting excited over something that will never happen..this saddens me.

Cheers..

Only it if it's a game that takes place before the current events of the game. As in it could be a game in which you play as an important general in one of the wars mentioned in the games lore and you get to see it from their perspective (maybe even witness events that aren't mentioned in the games preexisting lore that could be a hint to the plot of the next game in the TES series).
