Are Canadian and USA commentators the worst in the world?

I am starting to think that Canadian and USA commentators are the worst in the world. They are boring. The put me to sleep. They make the game unexciting to watch.

Right now I am watching Fifa World Cup Soccer and the commentators is English, and is making an exciting game boring. The voice is droaning on, same dull tone. I turn to the TLN channel and even though I do not understant the language it makes the game so exciting. Even if the game is crap, just them talking makes the game exciting to watch.

Then I realized the same is in other sports. NHL hockey, NFL football, MLB baseball. I say 90% or more of these commentators are boring, dull and show no passion for the game they are suppose to be commentating on.

I like the Fox Nascar Team commentators, for the most part they keep the show watchable. Now on TNN or what ever it is, I don't watch it as much. Just cars going in a circle over and over again sometimes.

CBC hockey had good commentators but that was over 5 years ago. NFL foot ball only has Fox, but they are gone now I think as well. While the Canadian and American games have a few, most are boring and dull. Lets take NFL for example. I can watch the Main Fox football game, but after that game, and if Fox shows a 2nd game, the commentators are boring. If I go to CBS and try to watch a Bills game, oh my god, bad enought the Bills are bad, but the commentators make the game excruitating to watch.

Why is itmost Canadian and American commenttators are boring, dull toned, droaning talk, while forigen commentators show passion, life and excitment when they talk.

No. And I'm still awaiting a reply from the BBC regarding my complaint about their commentators.

I only watch matches where the commentators are either Italian or Spanish (even though I can't understand 80% of what they're saying), or in English. Maltese commentators are the worst.

Commentators need to stick to a radio-style play-by-play. I don't need to hear his thoughts and opinions. I don't care.

Pierre McGuire is the absolute worst commentator in hockey. I honestly have a hard time watching a game when I hear that shell-less turtle looking bastard's voice.

Baseball is horrible, and NFL is pretty bad now, especially after the loss of John Madden.

NBA's tandem of Hubie Brown, Mark Jackson, and Jeff Vandy Gundy is oustanding. Generally college football announcers are also very good.

When I use to watch sports alot, I would have the Toronto Blue Jays on TV and listen to it on the radio. For some reason listening to the Toronto Maple Leafs at least on the Radio is exciting.

As Feral Guardian said, TV commentators need to be more like Radio ones.

I just wunder why the TV networks allow this crappy stuff on TV, and then wunder why people watch less and less sports on TV these days.

English commentator when a soccer player ( or to the rest of the world football  ) socres: GOAL!

Italian commentator:GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So much passion, so full of life.

I have to completely disagree. I don't need you to tell me what just happened, I just saw it. I'd rather have a bit more in depth anolysis of why that happened, random humor, interesting tidbits about players, random 'mom spilled coffee' this morning, anything other than 'handoff to Pierre Thomas, stopped for no gain' over and over.

I imagine this would depend upon where you live, what language you speak and what sort of commentators you like. That said, I imagine this thread bashing commentators according to country can lead nowhere but to a flaming mess. So it's closed.
