Do NPCs use the clothes in their dressers?

Post » Sat Jan 30, 2010 6:27 pm

I found a house in Chorral that had no locked door in the back (strange...) while looking for a place to rob.

I found a guy on the third floor sleeping naked (using Robert's body replacer). I haven't seen any NPCs sleep naked yet.

I looked in the dresser and found a bunch of clothing worth in the 20s gold ranges.

I took them all. A couple hours later I am roaming the castle stealing silverware when I see this guardsman with a green shirt but no pants with his yahoo in the breeze. :)

If they do use the clothes in the dresser then could this be the guy I stole from and he went on duty with what he could find? I have mods that make it a crime to go around naked yet this guy flaunts it sigh...

I saw a topless khajiit woman in Imperial City yesterday...

They use the clothes that are in their own inventory. I don't think they use the containers in their houses, those are just for thieves :hehe:

These topless/bottomless characters are due to mods, once in a while you run into one. Better than in my previous load order, where amost all vampire women were bottomless. Those naughty vampires :nono:

Odd I would see this for the first time running Eyecandy for a few weeks.

I can't imagine what mod would cause a guy to be sleeping in the buff, and another (or the same, later getting up for work) to wander with no pants on.

I wish the other guards would arrest him.

Manheim Maulhand, the publican at the Inn of Ill Omen, never wears pants.

Buffy's friend Mazoga will often sleep topless with just a skirt on in her bed at the Lodge.

I agree that NPCs select clothes from what they carry in their inventory.

What you describe is curious indeed. Perhaps reverse pickpocketing the guard some weightless greaves (permabound or pitt) and pants (black wide) might help?

I don't think guardsmen have homes, only named npc's. Guardsmen sleep in their barracks. Did you go around pickpocketing armor while the guards were asleep? Aside from that it's a glitch caused by one of your mods.

I've noticed that armor wearing npc's carry bottoms but not tops. I guess that's for sleeping purposes? Never thought about it before. Maybe next game they'll all get jammies. :-)

It must be a rare glitch then.

I've seen lots of NPC's sleep nvde because they remove their armour when they sleep and they don't have a set of clothes in their inventory. They shouldn't walk around that way though. Mind you, Maro Rufus from the Best Defense will walk around topless when he's doing his stroll routine Loredas mornings. He doesn't wear his armour then and doesn't have a shirt equipped. If you're not seeing this, you need to load the latest UOP supplemental - we just fixed several NPC's AI's :)
