With Legos.

Okay, just kidding.

Basically, you're gonna need Conjuration as a Major Skill. Apart from that, whatever you want.

You need to give a lot more info. though. Are you new to the game? What race are you looking at? Do you want a hybrid? Is it a warrior/mage/assassin/theif/battlemage etc.

What do you want out of the playthrough? We need all that info. first.

Ok, I should have known that lol. The major skills that I am looking at are: Blade, Armorer, Conjuration, Restoration, Alchemy, Heavy Armor, and Block.
Obviously, this character is going to be doing close combat to fight off things. I've played this game for a long time and have beaten the main quest line a few times. Just looking for something new and this kind of concept sounds really appealing and I want to try it out. Let me know if you need more info

Sounds to me like a Battlemage..

Ofcourse, you could have any race, but I would recommend Dark Elf, as they're a good hybrid race. But you can never go wrong with Bretons.

Race: Dark Elf/Breton
Birthsign:The Mage
Custom Class: [insert name here]
Favored Attributes: Strength, Intelligence
Major Skills:
-Blade
-Block
-Armorer
-Heavy Armor
-Conjuration
-Restoration
-Alchemy (I might have swapped it for destruction)

I think it's a pretty decent build..

Thaaanks!! I might actually put in Destruction instead of Alchemy, that way I have a distance attack and then close up of course.

No problem, although if I were you, I would wait for a couple more comments, and get better opinions. My specialty isn't Battlemage's, so I wouldn't know whats best, I just know what sounds right. :)

breton gets best conjuration bonus. you will want weapon skills for corresponding weapons. and bound armor is light and heavy mixture but you don't necessarily have to major in both. i'd go mage birthsign or lord is good with breton's and the regen spell still leaves enough magicka for conjuring.

So instead of Dark Elf, use Breton with either mage or lord birthsign. With the weapons, do I major in blade and blunt or pick my preferred weapon? I take it the regen spell comes with the Lord birthsign?

Hmm, let me point out some of the challenges. Not to discourage you at all, but to factor solutions into your build:
- You will want to fully equip a set of bound armor and a bound weapon at the beginning of each fight. That is going to take a lot of magic, get you into combat slower and you will start each fight somewhat depleted on magic.
- Your armor and weapons will be unenchanted. This limits your enchantment slots and reduces the lethality of your weapons.
- Bound weapons are weaker than Daedric with the wonderful exception of the bound sword (claymore).
- This character will take a long time to get up and running. Summoning a full set of bound armor + weapon for a reasonable timeframe will take some training and magicka. Now, that said, fighting at low levels with a bound dagger will serve you well - for awhile.

With those things in mind, here are some things I would consider in crafting your build/playstye.
- Get good with the nimble tactics of claymores, since those are the best of the bound weapons. Learn to dance at the edge of that sweet spot where your long range can hit your foe, but he cannot hit you.
- If you go with a claymore, consider a real (not bound) enchanted shield. With a two hander, shields can be 'equipped, but not used' - this means no block or armor rating, but you DO get whatever enchantment the shield has.
- Speaking of enchantment slots, the above shield quirk and rings/amulet will be about it - choose how you enchant them carefully.
- If you use a bound bow, realize that the darn thing does not come with arrows - you have to bring your own real ones.
- Get good with poisons, since bound weapons can be poisoned.
- Get good with potions to augment weak areas and help with magicka.
- Combat attributes and skills can be built up for any character. I would select a character based on magic. This means Breton with mage birthsign (my recomendation) or Altmer with atronach birthsign to me.
- Get into the University so you can craft combo spells to summon all your gear in one long lasting, powerful spell.
- Since you be developing plenty of conjuration skill, don't hesitate to use summons to buy time and assist you.

Uhh. . . on second thought I'm going to find another build lol. That seems like I'm not even going to get to the core purpose of the build until later when I've leveled my skills sufficiently. Thanks thought for all the help!

Oh noes! I didn't mean to discourage you. At low levels you could wear the pieces of (real) armor you cannot yet summon and fight with a bound dagger and a skeleton to help. Use some destruction magic to augment things. Get into the University and gradually start adding to what you can do.

My son is running a character that does just this. His only weapons are the bound weapons, H2H backup, a little magic. He has to wear some armor (heavy) as he tries to reserve most of his magicka for the creation of his custom bound weapon spells. He has high Endurance, Willpower and Agility. He is majored in Light Armor, as the bound stuff is all Light Armor, did you know? :whisper:

It looks like a tough play, and my son certainly got owned a lot in the teen levels. But the other day he just hit level 23, and he's kicking ass. It's cool to watch :mohawk: , when I'm not his personal chauffeur. :stare:

You can never go wrong with Bretons with the default 50% resist magic.

Also, don't really need Conjuration as a major for this type of character. Might even be better for it to be minor.
