Okay, I finally got my retail PC copy of New Vegas in the mail so I've been trying to install it using the "Setup.exe" found on the disc... with no luck. I've managed to authorize the key, but Steam's progress just remains stuck once it reaches the end of the "Creating local cache files", and "Preparing Fallout: New Vegas files for install" stage. I'm using Windows 7 and I'm on dial up if that helps. I can't imagine that this is an internet speed issue though seeing as how I'm trying to install from the disc. In fact it doesn't seem like Steam is even accessing the disc since the drive isn't doing anything. Any Steam savvy individuals here have any ideas?

dial up is your problem. your probably timing out with the steam servers thus is why it stops
