Well North Korea now (according to them) has nuclear weapons. And they are in (and have been for a while) a heated (luckily) mostly verbal conflict with South Korea. North Korea is run by a mad dog who should not be in charge of anything let alone a nuclear country. If war breaks out between North and south Korea its very possible that China will side with North Korea and the USA will side with South Korea. If this happens nuclear war may very well break out. If this does end up happening so you think the world will be like Fallout?

-I don't think this is very likely and I am not trying to start scaring anyone. I just wanted to start a philosophical topic about how in modern society Fallout could possibly become a reality and to see what people's opinions would be if this happens.

I doubt China would side with NK if they go nuclear. Everyone knows that NK is asking for it.

Nuclear War is certainly a possiblity in general. Nuclear terrorism or acidental launch seems more likely than actual all out Nuclear war but both are possible.

What incentive does North Korea have to actually use any nuclear weapons? Such a move would guarantee the destruction of their regime.

Kim Jong Il and his son are sick little bastards but they're not crazy and a full scale war brings them nothing while threatening everything. Extortion is the name of their game. The real threat for a nuclear attack comes from places like Pakistan and, potentially, Iran and I wouldn't say either of those would lead to anything even approaching worldwide destruction ala Fallout.

According to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) has more than 100 nukes, would if used correctly, could and would devastate the economy, the order, and the Government of the United States, in all to see, this would end with an International Force going to North Korea and marching through Pyongyang with Kim Jong il hanged on his royal palace.

Provided that the U.S. didn't blow the North Koreans to kingdom come following NKs launch of their nukes...

I heard that too, but whos to say they don't have Nuclear Subs? I mean like, we didn't even know about the Nuclear Weapons arsenal until THEY told US.

Yes I believe the world will end much the way Fallout describes it. World will run out of resources but the number one problem is water. Nations will run out of water. Canada having the most fresh water will be annexed by America for water and our natural resources. The EU will fall apart. They are already having trouble with their economy. China being the most powerful, Russia a close second will start annaxing their neighbors and at some point. The crap will hit the fan..

The war will be a resource war. Just like in Fallout. Countries will become more & more corrupt and eventually fight to the end for the last bit of oil.

Now, I do believe that someday, there might be a nuclear war. In fact, that is probably the most likely way our society will die. Oil, Water, Food, and all of those stuff will be in short supply. The USA and China, being the top two powers, will nuke each other onto Oblivion.

Very cynical, but I believe that it isn't too long before humans become space-faring and start mining resources like iron on Mars.

Every nation right now is in deep financial trouble at least those with the ability to go into space. Last thing they will spend money on are manned trips to Mars.

Not now, but soon. I give it 30 years at the least. It's arguable that the reason why the U.S. Lacks motivation is that it doesn't have a big goal like the moon missions. It's a good point, especially for something that has come from the left-wing (no offense intended, really).
