Got to be a tie between 11 and 12. What's so depressing about 8? It turned out pretty well for the inhabitants.

Vault 77. I think puppet man's story is pretty depressing.

It has to be Vault 11 for overall sadness, but also Vault 3 is pretty sad because the residents were slaughtered by the Fiends because they opened the door to outsiders, as a gesture of friendliness. Makes it much more satisfactory when you slay Motor-Runner and Cook-Cook.

Vault 11, it was hilarious at first, then depressing once you figured out what was going on.

I feel like that sole survivor is probably going to pop up in a DLC somewhere down the road.

Wow, the wasteland is quiet today, nothing to shoot or no wastelanders, not that i am complaining. Anyway, I would have to say IMHO these 5 Vaults in the four Fallout games(FO, FO2, FO3, FO:NV). Vault 11 for the Mind [censored] they got. Vault 12 for the fact that those poor souls got no protection from the Hard Radiation. Vault 22 for the genetic [censored] up they caused with their playing with plants and pests. Vault 3 for the souls that got [censored] when all they tried to do was make peace with the people outside. And Vault 92, which was to be a vault of Music, instead, it sounds were of Post Hypnotic Suggestions that turned the people into killers. I felt the worst about Vault 11 because of just how messed up the vault was looking around it was, and all the messages you discovered, especially at the end, poor souls. Guess it was true what they said that the Vaults were never designed to protect. Anyway, got to keep my wits about me, and keep on the move....

69/68=Organized [censored] until generational balance is restored

But seriously though, it's not that bad compared to 1000 people dying because of a sacrificial chamber.
