Yes I have performed the entire series of quests up to this point. I wouldnt be at this point had I not.
Yes I have enough medicine skill (80) and even if I didnt why wouldnt it tell me I need X/Y? No, its busted and wont do anything.
Yes I have tried repeatedly restoring games from numerous saves with absolutely NO change whatsoever.
When I stand over the patient I get the "X) Diagnose Injured Trooper". Pressing X does nothing. No message. No error. No dialog. No "blip" sound. Not a thing. Now I CAN pull up my rifle and start blowing all their heads off. I can even go stealth and steal their dog tags. What I CAN NOT do is diagnose even though the option is there.
So Im going to make this wild guess this is another one of those game demolishing bugs which equates to "You're !@#$ed!" episodes and all you can do is start completely over and HOPE (pun intended) you dont get hit with it again which in all probability your chances are like 1 in a quadrillion of it NOT screwing you over.
Or am I wrong and there is hope?
Why in the hell dont they provide a command console on the console systems (ie: PS3)? Its [censored] at best. The systems support keyboards. The systems support mice. The systems support a virtual keyboard. Even if they didnt they can still supply combo buttons. At least with a command console there was some semblance of hope for game experience destroying bugs like this as you could typically force a reset or force a quest completion etc.
