Commander voices...

I own the movie, release was 1999. It is in the movie. Possibly doug made it mainstream/popular or brought it back after it was legally taken out for copyright?
I can't find it on youtube either.

It was the dude Rocco in this clip, but its no where to be found on youtube so it leads me to believe it was a copyright battle.

Doug does it well though, and it would make for a hilarious commander voice

Hmm, considering that CS is Doug's game of choice, I assume he was imitating the quote from the game.

I wonder if there will be any easter egg novelty commander voices, or if it will be all serious ones. I mean, if you chose a silly voice its not like it would affect anyone else, but that would mean taking up studio time to make a whole voicepack for something kinda irrelevant to gameplay.

In 99, Counter Strike was still in Beta 6. CS didnt even release until 2000. Youtube didn't release until 2005. I don't think the movie took it from Doug. Doug became popular with CSS(release 2004) and Youtube.

If they're going to feature in game Doom shirts with the pre-order pack why not just bring over a voice from that, or the Strogg voice from ET:QW.

That's a brilliant idea! I'm tired of hearing the repeated you guys svck/good job in games like Gears of War II, just canned dialogue that never changes.

Thanks. I do like the stereotypical voices too (SNAAAKE!!! never gets old...) but I'd like to see some variety. Possibly commanders could have their own catchphrases of some sort that they repeat? That would add familiarity without getting unintentionally annoying. You could even have a voice spouting Bush-isms.

I am a fan of the TF2 Administrator, and she's got enough variety to work with. I'd like a few more lines though. Best announcer ever would be GLaDOS.

They should have Glados from Portal. Your objective is to steal the enemies cake.

The name of the commander could be "The Deciderer"

This is one Bushism that could work for a win.

''They misunderestimated me.''

And just for fun:
I couldn't imagine somebody like Osama bin Laden understanding the joy of Hanukkah. Heh-heh.

This would make me love the game like no other, I think I would just have to break out "Still Alive" and have it playing in the background.

I think Glados would become really annoying after only a short while.

"I was like BOOM HEADSHOT, BOOM HEADSHOT, BOOOOOOOM HEADSHOT!!!" Boondock Saints(the movie) - CSS servers went crazy with it until it was taken to court for copyright. Boo, it was a classic line that I didnt mind hearing.

I quit CSS because of it. It was totally overdone.

True, it was overdone, but I came to associate that with CSS...it made me sad whenever I played in a server without that audio clip.

After some thought I believe she would be, especially if she was constantly spewing forth commands every few seconds. Though I still would like to hear that voice once at least, declaring a match or some such.

I'd love the commander shouting: Killing spree, Rampage, Dominating, ... Even though it doesn't fit in the teamplay, it's still pretty rewarding to hear the sound of GODLIKE!

I concur, the announcer in Unreal Tournament may possibly be the best part about Unreal Tournament.

Yes. Portal is possibly the greatest game ever made, or at least the most original and funny. And the puzzles aren't actually too hard if you're prepared to think about them for a few minutes.

GLaDOS would be no more annoying than the TF2 Announcer. Since they're voiced by the same person. Who is an awesome voice actor BTW.

SD, are you listening? Bushism voice now!!!
