Well I don't think anyone is going to get shot, after all there are no TES Guns!
Gun in TES I agree would be a bad thing, but I wouldn't say that Magic makes them pointless, I do not use magic when playing TES.
On fast travel, because I don't think it was really mentioned in this tread
, its presence should be largley ignored by the developers, especially those working on the quests. This way the game is designed with the idea that everbody is walking from place to place, but have the fast travel implemented anyway so that they don't have to.
On the side note of quests, I say yes to specific directions. I found my way around Morrowind just fine, at least give us the option of self discovery and not a big flashing arrow pointing at the exact location we're expected to be. Also I'd like quest lines that don't assume you are proficient in all skills, if doing a Fighters Guild quest I expect to have to use sword and shield, if doing Mages Guild I expect to be casting a lot of spells. I don't want a Fighters Guild quest that requires you to cast Levitate, Water Walk, Water Breathing, Mark or Recall to complete. This really hasn't been a big issue in the past, mostly just a minor anoyance in a few quests, but I'd just like to put that out there as well.
