Yeah they do. But my local gamestop was out of GOTY editions. I'm going to wait for those so I can get the DLC

I completely agree on the role-playing front that its easier to do so in Oblivion, but I still found that Fallout 3 was slightly better written. I played Oblivion for just over 100 hours, but I stopped before I finished the game mainly due to my overwhelming dislike of everyone's faces and everyone's dialogue.

Fallout 3 is an amazing game with great graphics and game play I love it. Fallout New Vegas is even better with a tighter plot and more choices to make. I don't see why they added a 3 to the end of this game, it's basically a relaunch of the franchise and pretty much has the same story as number 2. I loved the first two games at the time but playing them is a bit tedious now with the extremely out dated point and click game play I just can't go back to playing them Fallout 3 and New Vegas are the best games of this franchise hands down

Gameplay wise is where Fallout 3 is Oblivion with guns.

I came to Fallout 3 from Oblivion. Whatever you may have missed, lore-wise, you can pick it up along the way. Enough to understand, at least. You can check the wiki for the rest. In terms of gameplay, it's pretty much a lot like Oblivion.

I definitely recommend it. I loved it just as much as Oblivion.

3 was my first Fallout game, and I never had any trouble. If there's anything you need to clarify, there's a Fallout Wiki called The Vault, so you can find any information on there. Unless you want to learn a lot about the game world though, you probably won't even need to use it. The basic storyline is easy to follow and most side-quests don't have too much lore in them, other than knowing about ghouls and things like that, but they're mostly explained throughout the course of the game. You should definitely pick up the game. You won't regret it.

That's exactly my take. Fallout 3 was my first fallout experience and I was awed when I first played it. I did like 3 play-throughs and then I got New Vegas. After that, I simply couldn't touch Fallout 3 anymore LOL.

What I like about the Fallout universe (also coming from TES), is that it has this huge world you can explore AND you can use guns! I love FPS games, but I prefer huge world exploration games, like the one Beth created for the TES series. For some reason I thought Fallout was just some silly linear zombie shooter... OMG I was never more wrong in my life! (well maybe the time I got married... but that's a different story hahahaha)

Seriously though, I would get both games! Fallout 3 has a cool Urban setting and it was a blast to run around a destroyed Washington DC, while New Vegas is a bit more gritter and feels like a more "grown up version". Your actions have consequences and you will affect the Mojave in ways you can't imagine. Plus, the New Vegas DLCs are 100 times better than the FO 3 ones.

Leveling system: You earn XP by completing quests and shooting creatures.

I just like using them. It doesn't hurt my experience at all, it adds to it. I just picked up F3 today, so I am serious about it

Good ones are probably all patched up by now, but I'm sure there are some left. Levelling is easier here than Oblivion. It's not skill based, it's EXP based. You gain EXP by killing, completing quests, discovering locations, etc. and you amp up your skills when you level.

And yes, Liam Neeson is Dad.

I actually mistook Fallout 3 for Killzone, thinking it was going to be like CoD/Halo and some linear platform FPS type, with a post-apocalyptic setting. Imagine my surprise when I was COMPLETELY wrong. And im very glad I was.

Don't worry. Leveling is insanely easy, in fact, I think that leveling occurs way too fast. The point and perk system works really well for FO3, I personally prefer gaining experience by doing something with my skills, instead of getting points for finding a location, or for a quest reward.

somewhat, yes you will be missing a lot of info on the story and you don't have to play from the first one but you can look up what you have missed from the previous fallout's if you want.

I had never played and RPG till Fallout 3, and that was because I also mistook it for an FPS. I loved it have played it so many times, I spent most of my free time in between architecture and political classes in college playing the game. I know some people don't like FO3, but I love it more than I like FNV. Don't get me wrong I love FNV, but I always make my way back to FO3, and play it again. Although, Point lookout is another story and I swear I will finally finish it one of these days.

After I played FO3, I rented Oblivion for PS3 and at first I hated it . Hated how people's faces looked, yuck. It took a while before I could get to liking the game, and that didn't happen for a full year when I bought it for PC with all the DLC's and then I started getting used to it and playing. Yet Fo3 is the game that made me an RPG [censored], and ever since that's what I mostly buy.

Plus I think I'm biased since I live in the east coast and the game takes place in D.C. I love visiting D.C., and if there was anyplace I could live it would be there. You can never get bored there.

Is it just me or is this game really hard early?

They're both really different story lines, the only thing that's the same would be the actual world, which is earth in a post apocalyptic setting and all the other blah blah
