Character and RP ideas!

Hey y'all, no matter what games I play, I always find myself back to FO. Lately I've been trying to re-kindle my fire with the game. My problem is I keep creating the same character over and over again because I know the build so well. (Guns, Repair, Lockpick. High Charisma, Luck, Strength.) I always end up with my Clint Eastwood, John Wayne type character roaming the wastes gettting into brawls loaded up on whiskey and trying to do the right thing, with a bad attitude.

I would really like to hear some of your build ideas, or some of your favorites. Skills, attributes, perks and role playing style. I've yet to play a character on hardcoe (I'd like to, but I farm and I just don't have that much time) and I've yet to use energy weapons or explosives. I know the games been out this long and your probably wondering how I haven't yet but I just haven't I guess. So any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appretiated.

my current build is a western outlaw. On HC, dont use magazines, dont read skill books that dont improve skills I use. I dont do quests unless theres a reward to it or unless its for someones whos helped me out. Hes a theif but he always pays his debts if ur king and ditto if u [censored] with him.
Str-6, per-7, end-5, cha-2, int-6, agi-7, luck-7
I max out guns and repairs, dont put any points in barter, speech, energy weapons, or medicine. I keep survival and sci low and get sneak and lockpicking to high numbers.
Again I dont use magazines, clothes, or meds to pass skill checks. He steals what he needs and keeps his guns clean bc thats what he lives by. Good at repairs and making bullets of course, jist a loner type so hes not very social or scientific like.

Yet to see if he sides with House or Legion yet, depends on how well he fleshes out and what seems to be his cup of whiskey. And yes each morning he drinks a beer, vodka, or whiskey. He aint into the whole wine or whatever that other thingie was.

Hes chill, slow to anger but when he does he goes seeing red and wipes the place off the map, so if I encounter a huge [censored] most likely im gonna hope hes shes in a building bc if not every civian or military personel going down. Also anti-ncr bc they keep trying to arrest him, dunno why maybe ill find out in LR..

Unfortuantly not a build that nets u good karma nor best results in completing requests bit none the less a build that has consequences but human choices in erring.

I've always favored a smooth talking gunslinger type character for New Vegas, it has always felt right ( for me. ) I usually build my SPECIAL for high charisma, a little more than average Intelligence, and high agility and luck. Revolvers are the go-to weapon and I usually go Independent or NCR with neutral karma with this character, they've always felt the most natural.

Currently playing a spaceman. Space suit + helmet, LAER, jetpack mod.

Pretty fun.

Shame Elton Johns 'Rocket man' doesn't play on the radio, would make you're playthrough even more awesome, a spaceman in the mojave lol. Brilliant.

Edit: I can just imagine the fiends too when they see you they probably thinking: ' Damm these chems are good I'm seeing flying spacemen' and then you zap em to death lol

Playing on hardcoe is the only way to go for a good RP experience. The H2O, Sleep and Hunger factor can be a great motivator to use for character development. For instance i played a character with high strength, barter, guns and repair with low charisma, luck, int and science. mele and unarmed were increased throughout the levelling up. He started out as the Courier to get the ball rolling, but changed into a rather dishonest theif who would fence his stolen goods to anyone who buy them. He had a short temper when dealing with others, violently if he lacked sleep and H2O at the time. EDE was his companion which enabled a little extra assistance with Legion assains but was mainly used as mule to carry his wares. He also enjoyed the Thorn after wasteland tequila!
