Would a TES graphic novel sell better than a normal novel?

Post » Sat Jun 23, 2012 2:11 am

Bethesda already has a TES novels published as in The Infernal City and Lord of Souls. If the Elder Scrolls already has writers, my wonder is if they hired a few well known illustrators such as Simon Bisley and put out a few TES graphic novels based on TES lore, would many more people buy them to read?

When I was younger I used to love graphic novels of certain characters. Mostly I like characters from 2000ad such as Slaine, Rogue Trooper, Strontium Dog, Judge Dredd, Nemesis & the ABC Warriors

Others I didn't mind were the TMNT (as in the first four original novels), The Punisher, and certain Batman were ok.

They weren't aimed at children as most had blood splatter, sometimes nudity and a few had swearing.

I know I'd be very much into them. I'd be straight onto my Amazon account ordering them up.

Anyone else like to see a few hits the shelves?

Yes, I am not well familiarized to this TES lore, and want to read it without being bored to death, I would buy.

Yea I believe it would sell better and I do wish they would do that. I don't mind novels, I just wish they had more. I am always saying that they need to expand TES.

I'd prefer it, the novels are good, but this would be much cooler!

I think it would open it up to a much wider audience who don't have the time / patience to read book consisting of just pages full of words.

Comic books is a massive market and has a large collectors following. I think they need to keep it advlt in story and graphically and not go for a kiddie friendly approach or else they'll loose face in the larger graphic novel market. I mean the game is intended for a more mature audience as it's rated 15 so it makes sense (I know all the youngsters play it the same way they grow up watching advlt TV. And we all know the same will be with the comic books)

I wouldn't buy them, but if other people want to buy them that's fine with me.

I have friends who arent gamers that would enjoy the Elder Scrolls style Novels weither they be Graphic novels or just plain hardback books. I have three in mind that dont have time for games but can bring a book to work or during a laid back job.

Hehe, that sounds like me.

I would totally read TES graphic novels. I read Infernal City and I bought Lord of Souls but have been too lazy to read it as of yet. I really don't like reading all that much, but I love looking at pictures. Plus, I can never remember what happens in books. Words don't stick with me; pictures do.

As a sidenote, Bethesda released a http://www.imperial-library.info/content/origin-cyrus for the game Redguard.

Redguard was good but has a long way to go to be in competition with the type of graphic novels I mean. I think TES graphic novels need to be more advlt to keep its market strong.

Slaine is a good example of the type of artwork they could use
