hey guys!
in a month or two, i will be building myself a gaming pc but in the mean time i just have a meh-ish laptop.
i got told over in the skyrim forums a while back that most laptops should play it. currently my laptop is:
HP pavillion dv6000
32-bit windows vista
2gb ram
Geforce-7150M/ nforce-630M
so far i looked up the specs and i noticed that my RAM is way above the game but i didnt quite know how to match up my graphics with the graphics on the spec requirements for the game which has led me to ask you guys, will this poor old laptop run this game at a reasonable frame rate?

so i bought this game now and im awaiting for it to come next week some time, I CAN'T wait! i've done a bit of research and so far the only problem that i've came across is the amount of people that i've seen mentioning that they gave up just after they started the game because they didnt know where to go or what to do.

for a beginner, can you guys just give me some really simple tips of what to do and where to go at the very beginning so i can catch on a lot more easily? i have really high hopes for this game regardless of the graphics and i want to dedicate some time towards this until around autumn this year, if the game turns out to be amazing then i will continue playing it alonside oblivion and skyrim! :)

thanks guys!

The best thing to do is just take your time and don't rush through trying to complete quest after quest after quest. I just restarted playing for the second time after a 7 year hiatus.

To be honest its like playing for the first time and I've just taken my time learning Seyda Need and Balmora. Exploring every location talking to all NPC's and such.

Just take your time and don't rush.

Don't rush and take it slowly. You start as a prisoner, so don't expect to be able to do everything on level 1, as there is no scaling and only a bit of levelling.
Stick to the first town for a while (until you familiarize with the machanics and controls), there are several quests so you can earn some starting money to buy some parts of armor and a weapon. There's also a cave nearby, if you can defeat enemies in there while being on level 1, you should be OK.

Keep you Fatigue bar as high as possible every time you want do do something - fight, cast spells, even persuade or mix potions. Fatiguea affects chance to do these things because, as opposed to newer TES games, most thing you do in Morrowind are "dice-roll" based.

Fighter character build are considered easiest for begginers, playing as mage or thief isn't as easy as in Oblivion or Skyrim.

Fight with a wapon and wear an armor that you're most skilled with. Long blades and short blades are different skill, as are blund and axes.

Fast travel works differently than in Obli and Sky. You can't fast travel form any place on the map, istead you have public transoprt - Silt Striders (giant bugs), boats, Mage's Guild teleportation, Propylon Chambers in Dunmer strongholds, Mark and Recall spell, also Almsivi and Divine Intervention spells/scrolls. It's a good idea to carry some of the Almsivi and Divine scrolls when you wander in the wildernees. The former one will teleport you to the nearest Tribunal Temple, and the latter one will teleport you to the Imperial Cult shrine, so you can easily escape from being slaughtered by monsters in a tomb, or by Daedra in theeir ruins.

I'm sure others will post many more tips!
