Honest Hearts DLC did you like it?

Post » Wed Feb 10, 2010 11:12 am

after playing honest hearts i thought that it was lacking in some areas but at the same time i loved the beautiful landscape, i think that the quests were too short and nothing much happened in them also hardly any people to fight the white legs were tough but in such few numbers it wasn't much of a challenge (thanks to my super sledge) over all it was pretty enjoyable thats just me though, what did you think of it?

Avarage.

The landscape was truly beautiful along with the rain and nightsky which were the saving graces of it.
But the weapons didn't fill a niche, the quests were repetitive, the story felt rushed and unimaginative and other than the Happy Trails characters and Follows-Chalk the rest were boring, onedimensional and cliché.

I don't even really get the point of the DLC, to be honest. So these tribals are under attack by other tribals? Why should we care, exactly?

I mean, it was good, but not great.

However, I thought the companions were superb, the area was beautiful, and the Survivalist side-story was just amazing. But the main quest? Not all that engaging.

A good DLC, I enjoyed it, well, I am enjoying it as I haven't started the final quest yet. I enjoy the free roaming and exploration and imo a better DLC than Dead Money. I have lost Waking Cloud somewhere, she was being a pain dashing in to attack everything so I dumped her in some rocks - she shows on the map but I can't find her, not that I am too worried for now.

Well, basically:

1. You get ahold of information of a trip to New Canaan.
2. You're interest in making some extra caps.
3. You get there and you cannot get back.
4. Daniel says that there is a way out but he refuses to give you the map unless you help The Sorrows.

That's the reason.
First money, then goodwill or just wanting to get the [censored] back to the Mojave after the trip was a complete failure.

The most Visual exciting DLC ive played, stunning surroundings, perfect scenery, not so good Story Mode. It seems rushed, as if they quickly developed the DLC as a haste download date. There isn't really any feel to it, seems very short to complete compared to the Dead Money DLC, and is more of Point A to Point B plan, rather than deep story mode.

Plus, you dont see much of the 2 main characters either, pretty much each give you a quest, then you dont see them till the end, in what is again quite frankly rushed situations to get the DLC completed.

Average in my view, obviously worth the money as is anything for the Fallout Series

My favourite FO DLC (I don't count Broken Steel), great location, well balanced and challenging at any player level (well, I've played at 8 and 30) and good stories. The back story is really well thought through and genuinely touching. I think all DLCs are over priced but other than that it's a great addition.

Some more interaction with Graham would be nice, but I enjoyed it and certainly got my 10€ worth.

I thoroughly enjoyed HH. It was the right amount of difficulty and none of the puzzles were too difficult. Not to mention not dying every other step was a definite plus. :intergalactic:

Yeah it was very fun I like the tribal life and living of the land, having to use campfires and such. I only have a few probelms with it and that been that it was kind lacking missions, I would of like to helped the tribal out or just have more missions where your going around with them catching food such as Geckos. Another thing is I don't like when you finish it and you can't trade with anyone there because they've all "left" or whatever the reason is.

Lol. She does get annoying i had this problem also she goes and wonders off or something and when i look behind me shes not here.

But i love the DLC i loved hearing Grahams story and the whole story itself. It was lacking some but it made up for it. Im looking forward to the next. :)

"Good."

If it felt like it had more replay value (on its own, going back to it) or added something more to the actual vanilla game, I'd rate it higher. But that's my issue with a lot of DLC's - they're often so self-contained. At least the ammo/weapons carry over to merchants. But loved the environment, exploration factor, and Follows-Chalk grew on me after a while. I kept him as long as possible - by the time I had WakingCloud there wasn't too much left to do/explore. :)

I voted good. The area was a refreshing change from the empty desert that is the Mojave; exploration was awesome and there was little to no feeling of restriction. The spawning of enemies made me keep on my toes and even felt a bit like Fallout 3 due to not knowing what could be around the corner. The enemies were challenging, but not overpowered; the White Legs were equipped with good weapons but were not over-powered juggernauts (Maybe we could get some Fiends and Legion with those weapons...). The quality of recipes that were added are interesting and make some of the junk we never needed a handy way of getting what we do need or could use.

The other parts were meh. Story could have been better and less linear (White Legs should have been an optional faction rather than a forced enemy IMO. Plus Graham could have been a awesome end-game boss for the DLC). Named characters were not really that interesting to me (with the exception of the short-lived Happy Trails Caravan crew), with Waking-Cloud being the most annoying partner I have had to date (she always seemed to be in the way of my Anti-Material Rifle every time I had a shot). Armor and weapons were okay. Though it was interesting to see Yao Guai again, I was disappointed that there was really no new wildlife other than some reused and repainted creatures I have already seen.

Even though it was not overwhelming to me, Honest Hearts was still worth a playthrough for me.

I didn't really like Graham. Didn't feel much like the evil, epic badass I've heard about before

He is you just have to end it right :).

Spoiler
If you take imperialist (something) perk you have the option to tell Graham to execute Salty Wounds, and the end slides are really really dark.

Very good or good . It had places to improve, it needed more tribal weapons, more variety in quests e.g you must accompany some tribals on a hunting trip to get some food for the tribe. The quests were just fetch quests, needed more named characters imo, how about a tribal hunter who sells food, one who sells weapons (after Joshua and daniel are gone there is no one), maybe even one or two who can teach you a perk or two if you beat them in unarmed combat with no chems/aid or have some other quest.

The white legs needed less advanced weapons, it becomes less of a tribal/survival atmoshpere when you get an anti material rifle in 2 minutes.

I like Zion, its great I can go back, but I need a reason to go back, now its just empty, for some reason every named character vanished and all quests are done and there are only a few unique items to find. Most dont fit the atmosphere imo.
