Talos, was he truely a nord?

Notice the statues in skyrim look nordic because for some reasons the nords really want to believe Tiber was a nord.

I think it was more because the greybeards named Tiber "Ysmir, the dragon of the north." Thats why people tend to get confused by it.
Ahhhh, good point

Talos was an Imperial, a Nord, a Dunmer and an Orc.
As far as I understood it, Talos is the endeavour, downward to its lowest point then reaching upward beyond what was before.*

* If I could find it, I would link it, but I remember MK saying that Tiber was an Orc once through surgery of the mythical kind.

I read it differently. Also his name does sound very Nordish and coupled with the other readings that suggests he is from Atmora and attacked High Rock further lends to my theory he was from Atmora and not initially from High Rock

His name sounds more Nordish than Breton, I agree. And there are tales of his time in Atmora, yes. However if you were a Nord historian and your countrymen provided the bulk of the conquering army that created the Empire and the legend of Talos, would it not best suit you to suggest a man given a Nord title was in fact a Nord and not an outsider? Nords have not changed in their xenophobia in my considerable lifetime and I doubt they were any less so at the time. Giving your highest praise to someone you consider a lesser race (Just look at the Thalmor and the banning of Talos worship) is just not the Nord way. Other realms change the ethnicity of their gods to match their peoples expectations, so why not this one? Another consideration is the Nord dislike or mer, to have as your leader, as your god, a figure that was part mer would be the ultimate insult. To add false storys (that are contradicted in other works) of a history prior to his time in High Rock would suggest a prior involvement and would reinforce the purity of humanity.
