2nd playthrough of NV on PC, and seeking advice about mods t

Post » Sat Jun 30, 2012 9:03 am

Hey folks,

So I'd like to accomplish the following with mods for NV:

- better graphics (higher res for NPCs, clothes, texuters....everything basically)
- less consoley (smaller fonts, nicer interface, ability to remap and expand hotkeys)
- longer draw distance
- extra quests, locations, weapons
- additional bug squashing and game optimization

These cover the basics that I can think of off the top of my head. I hope that my 2nd playthrough will be significantly different than the 1st one, thanks to mods.

Also, equally important, is there a guide to what order to install them in, something similar to STEP for Skyrim?
I have both NMM and BOSS, and will make use of these, but the mistake I've made in the past is getting too ambitious, installing too many mods, and then the game becomes unstable. And I'm looking at Fallout New Vegas Nexus and there are many many mods, so help knowing what to choose would be great, as well as if any of the really popular ones are incompatible with one another.

Any suggestions as to "must have" or clearly essential mods would be greatly appreciated, as well as any suggestions re: load and install order.

Maybe someone with a heavily and successfully moded NV could list their mods and their load order (or boss list)? That would provide a good basis for load order.

I am running vanilla NV, no DLC.

Thanks.

fook and project nevada, just dont use the rebalance core equipment ehh its ok but kinda reduntant.
Ole buenos textures, vurts flower mod, mk1 weather mod, freeside open and stripopen mods they are uncut mods that add alot of uncut stuff back into the game. Mmm ow ya warzones mod, imaginator mod, mm thats about it.

If u go with fook, u wont need the unofficial patch bc fook uses alot of the fixes and stuff from jsawyer mod.

Thats a good start right off the top of my head to keep the game modded and lore wise as well look like a brand new game.

Thanks! Does it matter the order I install them in?

Also, should I install the 4G aware patch?

I have 8G on my machine.

Also, do folks know if NMM and Ojo Bueno texture packs are compatible, or is it one or other?
