Is Cass useful at all?

I never bothered using her, because her Caravan Shotgun looks useless from the looks of it, but recently, I decided to try her out in a fight. She is good at killing Bloatflies and Coyotes, and some Powder Gangers, but she is completely useless against other enemies. I can understand her having trouble with a Deathclaw but there is really nothing special about her, even her perk is kind of pointless. And her weapons are lacking. I like her character and personality though. "Sssssssssh, were hunting [censored]heads."

Anyone know how to put her to good use or is she forever useless?

Giver her a better weapon? I gave her All-American and a ton of 5.56mm surplus and she carved through everything. A good drinking buddy too.

Cass requires a better weapon and some armor before she starts to shine. Unlike some of the others( Boone, Arcade, and the gender confused super mutant), who play pretty strong from moment one. The caravan shotgun is not exactly a strong weapon. Cass is an early follower, and is intended for the beginning portion of the game. She's intended to tag along with you for a while, becoming stronger as you do. If you pick her up later of the game, rather than earlier, she'll seem considerably weaker.

Arcade was one of my favorites, earning my respect when he spotted and successfully dealt with a cazador I hadn't seen. He's a beast with his plasma defender!

Cheers!

Errrgh, I am not one for sharing my ammo. It's all mine! Atleast Boone has a sniper rifle, Raul has a 44. Magnum, Arcade has a Plasma Defender, and Lily has a huge freaking Vertabird blade.

If you don't equip your companions with better weapons, they will never reach their full potential! I give Boone a REAL sniper rifle and some .308 ammo, OMG he kills enemies before I even see them!

I might give Boone an Anti Material Rifle since I don't use it at all. And it's the only weapon that uses 50. MG in the game so I don't have to worry about ammo. Is Veronica any good with Energy weapons? I ton of those to spare as well as some Energy Cells.

Cass is awesome with a riot shotgun. Boone is the angel of death with an AMR.

Giving your companions better weapons it an absolute must, imo.
