A less-ambitious daggerfall 'remake'

new engines and all that are spiffy and all but such projects tend to...collapse sooner or later.so I was think of a less ambitious project, that wouldnt actually change the game much. My main problem with daggerfalll is its controls and UI. I don't know what it was like when the game came out, but they are frustrating beyond imagining now.

For my idea, it would look a lot like zdoom. The game play and mechanics would remain the same, but the controls would be vastly altered. I feel that out of everything, if we could just get the strafing vs. turning controls and the mouse look up to date, many more people will play. I have trouble every time i do play thegame and have to doanything that doesnt involve straight ahead of me.

Looking up and down is by far the most disruptive aspect, following by strafing and mouse-look all together. is it feasible to do this? to make it feel like morrowind/oblivion/skyrim just from a navigating perspective?
