Advice. Opinion.. Help?

Alright, so I'm strongly considering purchasing Fallout: New Vegas on the Xbox 360. I put in over 80 hours in Fallout 3, and it is one of my favorite games. I had no issues with bugs, crashing, or freezing in Fallout 3, but I've heard that in Fallout: NV there are many bugs and issues. Since it's been out for quite awhile now, my thinking is that they would have patched the game to fix the issues.
Basically, I am wondering if, by now, the games crashing and freezing problems have been corrected. If I buy the game today will I not have to deal with freezing and glitches? Also, should I buy the game?
Thanks to anyone who responds :)

I play on PlayStation 3, which has a history of being even more bug-ridden that the Xbox, but so far I haven't had any game-changing problems. I guess Bethesda has fixed most issues, so you should be able to play properly by now.
