Placing Artwork In a Mod

Post » Wed Jul 04, 2012 10:04 pm

After 6 years and 6 months, I have finally completed the exterior work on my city mod of Firewatch. To commemorate this milestone event, I created a map of the city in Photoshop.
It's here if interested: http://www.smugmug.com/photos/i-XGhLPNJ/0/X3/i-XGhLPNJ-X3.jpg

My question is: Can I somehow import this work of art into my mod? Perhaps as a tapestry, or maybe a map on the wall of the local Census & Excise Office? I am writing an in-game Visitors Guide to Firewatch, and it would be nice to have the map somehow accessible from the book, but I have a feeling I'm asking for the impossible with that one. I can save the map off as a bmp or tga file, and I know the CS uses those file types for textures, but I don't know how that would work with a large graphic such as this, or how to go about implementing it. There is a lot of fine print on the map, so maybe it's not even practical? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks.

p.s. Hopefully the link works. The SmugMug link share thing wasn't working so I just copy-pasted it.
