How to fix GOTY edition on Xbox 360 S. (4GB model)

Post » Thu Jul 05, 2012 11:18 am

I made this post because I am getting sick of seeing posts by people saying that they cannot install the GOTY content.
  • Even though 4GB's is more than enough to use the GOTY content, the game and the console do not count this as an Hard Drive. It's classed as a memory card so GOTY games (Not just Fallout 3 GOTY) will not work fully.
  • In order to fix this you need to get an 80GB HDD for the X360 S. The only issue with this is that it will set you back £80 for a new one.
  • No you cannot use an HDD from the older Xbox model. The new S model has a specific Hard Drive designed for it.
  • No you cannot use USB Hard Drives. I have a 500GB USB Hard Drive and I cannot use it to store DLC, I can only back up my saves on it. (However this may all depend on the read/Write speed of your Specific USB drive.)
  • The new HDD for the Xbox 360 S only takes a few seconds to slide in. Open Hatch>Slide HDD in> Close Hatch
  • If you DOWNLOAD DLC from the Xbox live Market place, you can use it on the 4GB interneal Memory as normal. However installaing DLC from a disc will not work.
  • Co-Op and Threatre Modes in Halo reach and Call of Duty will not work without an HDD.
Games which require HDD.
  • Fallout 3 GOTY
  • Fallout NV Ultimate Edition
  • Borderlands GOTY
  • Halo reach Co-Op modes and theatre mode.
  • Call of Duty Theatre Mode.
Thank you for reading this. I hope this helped somebody.

Well most of the HDD space is taken by updates and stuff that it shouldnt be taken so its totally normal that all of the goty doesnt fit and you will eventually need another HDD or a USB to complement those 4gb

Exactly my point. People don't understand that 4GB isn't suitable in the long run.
