The Future of Elder ScrollsSkyrim

Will there be an ending to the conclusion we're looking for in Skyrim? We did defeat Alduin, but we didn't take out the Aldmeri Dominion. Will there be another DLC featuring a second Great War, or could there be a WHOLE new game coming?

It'll be a new game, most likely, with a new protagonist. Skyrim was about stopping Alduin, not the conquest of Tamriel by the Aldmeri Dominion.

Morrowind was in a similar situation- it was about stopping Dagoth Ur, though if you asked about rumors, you'd know that the Empire was in serious trouble regarding the succession of Uriel, and that the legions may need to be recalled. Also, if you had your future divined after completing Bloodmoon, there would be a cryptic message that fits the events of Oblivion to a T (except for the whole daedra invasion.) No doubt the fall of the Aldmeri Dominion will take place as TES VI or TES VII, and placed in Summerset Isles.

Or maybe the Aldmeri Dominion will rise to power in Tamriel while the Human Empire finally collapses for good?

The whole thing about Alduin makes a lot of since, i guess it just upsets me thinking we'd have to wait another good 5-6 years until we get to play another elder scrolls game, couldn't Bethesda just make the new game on the same engine as Skyrim?

Bethesda makes other games as well, have you heard about the Fallout series? it would upset a lot of fans if they weren't to make another Fallout game

Actually, the FO fandom would recjoice (the Old Bloods, at least) if gamesas announced that they wouldn't make another FO game. FO3 is only popular with previous fans of the Elder Scrolls series and people who've never heard of Fallout beforehand. And New Vegas was developed by Obsidian using the (mostly) original Dev team of Fallout and Fallout 2. Anyway, that discussion is way out of the lines of this thread and subfolder.

Maybe. But all the info we have indicates they're seeking to ascend all of their members by effectively destroying Mundus as well as most people living on it. No two ways about it, the Aldmeri Dominion WILL fall in a future game, it just depends on how close they are to reaching that goal at the start of the game.

I'd be happy if they didn't. Last thing I need is more carbon-copies.

But obviously we'll see not only a Fourth or Fifth Empire (We don't know if Mede has an heir, but it seems like he doesn't from the looks of it meaning more civil strife and the Fourth Empire of Tamriel/Cyrodil falling) confrontation with the Aldmeri Dominion - but we'll likely get to experience (I hope) some stuff from other provinces such as Argonia or Morrowind - maybe Hammerfell.
