Location freezes

I cannot go into certain towns, mainly those that have a great deal of importance to the main story line without the game crashing/freezing. This happened with my first copy, and i thought it to be just a defect in the disc. I tried another copy..same thing. Hoping that I had just had a streak of bad luck, I got a THIRD copy..same thing! Idk if this is a problem with my system, or the software, as I have the newest 360. I'm hoping the software. But it makes it impossible to progress in the story, making the game lack quite a bit. Not to mention a myriad of other glitches, including audio and graphical issues. I also get a Disc Read error message on occassion..any ideas?

As a side note, the rest of my games work perfectly fine. New and old alike, making this even more confusing.

You are not alone on this problem. My game freezes every single time I try to enter certain areas. I did not pay 60$ for a game that I can't even play. I mean come on, what is the deal here???

I have been having the same problem with my entire system crashing when I try and enter the VATS. I can be playing and everything is just fine I hit RB and I must restart my system. It was working fine until they decided to put out the patch today for the 360. I mean I am a little tired of the gaming industry releasing a game that is full of game crashing bugs. As much as they want to charge for the game they need to made sure that it is 100% before they release it. Here lately every game I have bought has had the same freaking issues, except for the few that actually beta tested the game before release to work out the bugs that we are seeing in this game. As for the game freezing on the Come Fly with Me campaign I have not had an issue as of yet. It is just annoying that as soon as I hit the RB button it seizes my system up and forces me to restart. I mean I can not even dashboard.

This happened to me a few times. Novac was the first one. Every save was the same.

The way I solved it was to approach from a slightly different direction. Same thing happened in one other place... can't remember where, but I solved it the same way.

Just try from a different direction.

(I am on the 360)

Novac, outside of New Vegas, and certain other areas all freeze for me, and same, I cant dashboard from them, it requires a total restart. I've attempted to go into these towns from other locations, but I might get a tad farther before it craps out again. It makes the game more or less worthless.

Well I am experiencing the same thing in about 15 different locations. Regardless of what direction I come from the game will freeze and either lock up or pop up with a disc read error saying my disc needs to be cleaned and then knocks me back to the dashboard. Pretty good considering the disc is spotless, I am also running on the new 360 Slim. I finally gave up after about 3 hours, I refuse to play untill some patch comes out to resolve this problem. This really svcks bad too, I love Fallout and spent months waiting for this game. Guess its back to waiting. I miss the old days when you bought a game 95% of the time it was payable right out of the box, these days too many developers fall into the "Release it now, fix it later" mentality.

Problem is with the software. Not the discs or the console.
