I just re-installed Fallout New Vegas from DVD onto my computer, hooked into my Steam Account and let it update. I installed my old save files from my D drive to my C drive (I had to re-install windows, and I backed them up there).

I try to play Fallout New Vegas and I crash very often. Time doesn't seem to be a factor, sometimes it is 2 minutes into the game, sometimes 20 minutes. Sometimes 3 times in a row.

I ran a CPU core temp program while playing, it is not over heating.

It crashes one of two ways.

1. my screen flips to the desktop, but the sound keeps going. I have to open the task manager to shut it down.

2. The screen starts pixilating. Small dots of off colors. It gets worse and worse until I can't play anymore. To get it to stop, I have to restart the computer.

It is frustrating, I played for a few hours yesterday and probably had it crash at least 20 times.

I've tried manually adjusting the video settings to see if it helps, nothing I've tried. I've looked online for helps, every one I've tried hasn't.

Any help would be appreciated.

The game never should have been able to even START, if that is the only (awful, terrible) graphics card you have been using. The only surmise I can make is that you were uncritical of how badly the game looked and ran compared to what it should look like and run like, and have overstressed, and overheated a terrible POS of a video solution until it's begun to fail. The minimum required graphics card is WELL ABOVE that poor, cheap G 210.

I went to the can you run it website, (at system requirements lab) and it said that my card met the minimum.

But yea, I don't think I've tried running this until after I had to replace the video card with the one that is in it.

Could I run it on low setting and get it to work? I really can't afford to upgrade the card right now.

And when I CAN afford to, what card do you recommend I get (or at least specs I should look for?) That won't cost me an arm and a leg. Sad that I can render 3D in Carrara 8, and not run this video game with this card.

My husband has a Sapphire Radeon HD 6570 1GB DDR3 card, would that be better? cause if so, I'll steal his, lol.
