For me, I saw a play station magazine with the knights of the nine dlc on the cover when it first came out :)

A friend at work told me about this game that was awesome after I was complaining about how boring and short they were. He told me about oblivion and I laughed and said I could beat it in one night. Well, I got it that night played for 9 hours straight and never slept, went straight to work and was hooked ever since.

Saw a copy of Morrowind GOTY lying in a store somewhere in 2004. I looked at the back of the case, thought it looked interesting, and picked it up on a whim. I'm glad I did.

I don't remember. I got Arena early on, but it wasn't as important to me as some of the other (better) games I was playing in the 90s, and I was late getting to Daggerfall. I got Morrowind when the GOTY came out, and did the same with Oblivion. So I'm always a couple of years behind, but the result is that I get the completed and patched product. (Well, as "completed and patched" as any Bethesda product ever is.)

In early 2001 I was browsing the games section of Amazon looking for a new first-person shooter. Amazon recommended this game called Morrowind. I'd never heard of it. I'd never heard of the Elder Scrolls series. I was strictly a shooter gamer back in those days, I'd never even played a roleplaying game in my entire life. After looking at some of the screenshots and rading about it, I pre-ordered.

I'm ashamed to say it now. All the fuss about Morrowind's astounding graphics was what made me buy the game.

When I was in grade school, a small demo copy of Arena showed up on this one "Big CD Of Demos" that my parents somehow acquired. I got my ass KICKED by it.

Two years later, the Daggerfall demo arrived on PC Gamer or Computer Gaming World or one of those things, and I installed it and subsequently racked up more time on that one tiny island of Betony than I have most modern day retail releases. Ever since then I was hooked. Got the real game (svcked at it since I was only 11 at the time), played and played and played and played, I'd bring the HUGE (for it's time) instruction booklet to school with me to read almost every single day.

Along the way, I played Redguard and Battlespire, though I wasn't as into them.

Eventually, Morrowind arrived on the scene and made my computer crap a brick even on the lowest graphical settings, prompting me to buy my first video card upgrade ever, and ooooh man. Morrowind sits as the unstoppable "My Favorite Game Ever" although admittedly every time I try to go back to it these days I find myself getting bored of the old engine rather easily since I already know where every quest, every NPC, and every item is in the game and it's expansions.

So I guess the short answer is, I've been with the series from the demo of the first title, but I think it was already a year old by then.
