So for the first time, I'm making a non warrior class in Morrowind. I want to do a battlemage, as I like magic but not enough to do a magic only character. I don't really want to only use melee, though. I want melee as my backup.

What melee skill should I have? I chose long blade already, but I feel like I should have chosen short blade. I may be a vampire later on, so whats the best choice for that? I'm also going to be doing a bit of enchanting.

Vampire? In Morrowind there are three vampire clans, one for magic, one for stealth and one for longblade....so join the one that fits your class best, either Berne (warriors and strength) or Aundae (Mages and magic).

Longblade is the more versatile choice, out of the artefacts in the game, the most are long blades....but there are plenty of shortblade...such as one MQ related one that is good.
