Flyable Vertibird

I was wandering has anyone tried making a Vertibird flyable/drivable? I ask because searching didn't turn up anything about it & I figured it might be possible because of the drivable chimera tank mod. But I could be totally wrong about being doable.

ahh, i miss this question, lately the boards have been about guns and followers. Modding has slowed considerably


anyway, there are a few problems, one is that you can have a flyable vertibird, but there are two main problems.

First, try tcl and keep going up, at some point, the tops of the buildings will show and you will see that there is only a front, there is no back and nothing behind it, If you had a vertibird, you would be seeing that almost every time u go up. yeah you could fly low, but there is a chance of hitting somthing

second, everything in the world is split up into cells, in the wasteland this is ok, they overlap seamlessly. but if you wanted to go from the city to the wasteland, then you cant go from cell to cell.

It should be possible. Fallout 3 is based on the Oblivion engine and there are some mods which adds some flyable mounts for Oblivion. (Dragons, Magic Carpet) etc...

The problem is just that there are no modders which will make it.

EDIT: I could be wrong though.

The problem is mostly that any modders who know enough to make it won't bother because the way the world is set up would make it terrible.

Yes, that's a good reason. I never bothered with GECK so I don't know how the world is set up.

Figured I'd just post this here since some people posted in it & not to take up any room with this problem. Recently for some odd reason my game has randomly been crashing either during gameplay,saving or, exiting any building or area that uses a door to leave. Here is my load order not sure which one exactly is causing it. I unloaded all the mods loaded up the game then saved then tested some that I thought might be the problem. But I just had the game randomly crash while in Moriarty's Bar.
