I Want To Set the World On Fire
Introduction
“You know, there is nothing as tempting as a locked door.” It was Masons voice.
“Well, well, well what do we got here?” I asked him as I walked towards the door he was standing in front of.
Mason took his bag off his back on got on his knees then started to dig in the bag, “That's what I'm about to find out..”
He was right, there is nothing as tempting as a locked door. “Who knows whats in that room? Maybe a Laser Rifle, or even better, a Fat-Man! If only... There's probably [censored] all behind that door, but I suppose it's worth checking.”
“Don't be so pessimistic, optimism is your friend Dex.” Mason put a screwdriver in the lock and then slid a bobby pin in there too, he fiddled with the lock for a good five minutes and broke most of his bobby pins, much to my entertainment. He finally got the lock open and shouted “booyah” in celebration.
He rushed into the room like a kid entering a candy store, and I followed. We both started rummaging through every container in the room looking for anything valuable.
Mason was announcing every item he found, “Clipboard, clipboard, another clipboard, LASER RIFLE!”
I immediately dropped the metal box I was looking in and made my way over to Mason who was holding the rifle in his hands. “That's not fair, I totally called that!”
“Finders keepers, that's your rule Dex! Haha, be careful what you wish for buddy, better luck next time.”
“You're an ass hole, you know that Mason? I'm not sharing the rest of that vodka with you.”
“Hey come on man, that's not fair! Take the Laser Rifle, bullets are better anyways.”
He handed me the Laser Rifle and I lifted it up in the air and inspected it, “It's beautiful isn't it? I haven't had one of these since the Vault...”
“Yeah, yeah. Now lets finish searching this damn place... You're going to need MF cells anyways.”
I took his advice and went back to searching the room, we managed to find some bottles of water, some bottle caps and a six pack of Nuka-Cola. Unfortunately we didn't find any MF cells but there was already a cell loaded in the rifle which meant there was only two dozen shots.
Now that we were done scavenging the building we went out into the wasteland, the sun was starting to go down so we would have to make it to Megaton quickly.
“I don't like the sun. It's too bright, and you can't even look directly at it. Makes things way too hot anyways, I miss the Vault... It was always so cool.”
“Stop complaining Mason, life wouldn't exist without the sun.”
