Hi everyone I just got the MSGO 2012 for morrowind and am having a problem with the mgegui part of the package. Whenever I click on the icon I get an error saying “mgegui has encountered a problem and needs to close we are sorry for the inconvenience”. This happens immediately after I click the icon and I have no idea what is causing the problem. I have all the prerequisite programs installed and am on the admin account. If anyone could help me out I would be very appreciative. I am running windows xp sp3 os.

Have you tried to send MGEgui.exe to desktop as a shortcut by right clicking MGEgui.exe first?

Just tried that still getting the same error .

Just reinstalled the prerequisite programs again. Sometimes it helps to do just that.

If you let MGSO install fully with with the automatic installer, then it should work just using the .exe in the Morrowind folder.

If it doesn't I suppose you could try installing the latest version of MGE XE from the nexus. I don't think the one included in MGSO is the 9.8 (latest) version anyways.

Else try to reinstall the game and the overhaul.

Thanks for the help guys reinstalling everything right now. I would use the auto installer but whenever I get to the exe optimizer step, exe optimizer gives me the same problem lol. It will say "Exe Optimizer has encountered a problem and needs to close we are sorry for the inconvenience”. So I have to skip that step and manually install everything.

So I re-installed everything and still nothing. It will still error right when I click the MSGgui. I can't even get into it. I have no idea what's wrong I followed the directions step by step in the setup guide and still nothing.

Have you tried changing your resolution in the Morrowind launcher before starting the GUI? Usually that works when getting the GUI to not crash, but I don't know if MGSO covers that part or not.
