(WIP) Black-Moss Reinvented

Post » Sun Jul 15, 2012 9:03 am

So I am completely remaking the Work in Progress, Black Moss. Here is a general overview.

What is Black Moss?

ANSWER 1: Well, Black Moss is the name of the mod. In the mod, there also is a town called Black Moss. This town is where much of everything is centered or relies on.

ANSWER 2: Black Moss is an Argonian village on the island of Arvuth. The Village was [thought to be] founded by Argonian slaves who had escaped their slaver-masters and sought shelter on the island. Eventually small communities began to rise around the isle.

Why is the Island called Arvuth? That isn't Argonian Sounding.

Well, the name Arvuth isn't Argonian. In-fact, when the first Argonian's first settled on the Island it had already had been Called Arvuth;[ it will be learned] that someone else, at one point inhabited the island. Of course they aren't there anymore, which is part of the mystery of the place.

What is Arvuth like?

Arvuth is an island that is basically one-gigantic gorge with a Swampy-river that separates the two main mountain-hills. On the right side, the city of Black Moss is located and on the left side is a smaller village that is known as Thomlil. Thomlil isn't an Argonian settlement. In-fact, Thomlil is a Breton village that has been there for a very long time, and it only has one inhabitant. You guessed it, his name is Thomlil. So the village was named after him? Oh, and one thing about Thomlil, he is immortal and seclusive. Much of the islands mystery involves him. And who knows, maybe it was him who named the island!

At the top of each Side, is a temple, one temple of the moon and one temple of the sun; there is of course, a very large importance about them. The thing is, they look exactly the same, so it will up to you to decide which is which.

[Currently the story-line is a work in progress, and I am working on the world-building and 3d modelling at the moment]

The Argonian's will have two new architectures; There will be a full tile-set for an Argonian Village and some pieces to a Argonian stone-city tile-set. I will also model my own types of clutter such as but not limited too: Furniture, lighting, possible clothing and armor, weapons, shields, and items.

Here is a teaser to the Stone Architecture for the Argonians: http://s1112.photobucket.com/albums/k481/kenders21/New%20Black%20Moss/

Those images are screen shots of textures and a model that I made for the Temples of the sun and moon.

Well the texture is very Imperial, but the overall look certainly doesn't scream that. I look at it and feel very much like it would be right at home in the middle of a jungle/swamp/rain forest area, covered in vines and moss, and infested with all manner of giant bugs and prehistoric-looking lizard things.

Well, It would make sense the texture was imperial, but with a more jungly-fever too it. xD Especially their Stone-Architectural achievements, less so for their village stuff though. xD
