Reconciling the landfall with CHIM

I'm sure this has been answered in various threads, and I might have even read it somewhere, but my thread searching skills are lacking, and I thought this is a decent question for a first post.

How is it that the worship of Vivec is necessary for his power when he received his divinity from his own self reflection? I feel certain there is an explanation but am unable to think of one currently?

P.S.

On an unrelated note, what the [censored] do all of you people do? From lurking these boards furiously over the past week, I feel certain that the IQ level is off the charts here. . .compared to any gaming related board I've ever looked at. The mathematical, metaphysical, philosophical, and historical knowledge is pretty impressive, and some of the things deciphered from the texts astound me, and I consider myself above average in intelligence.

P.P.S.

Also unrelated. . .are there any Malazan Book of the Fallen fans here? I've only read the first one, as they are intensive reads, but it seems to have similar level of complexity to TES and also shares the theme of ascendancy.

Anyway, I seek more knowledge, so don't forget about the first questions! Thanks to everyone for providing lots of interesting reads

Welcome to the forum, here's your http://images.uesp.net/c/c4/Fishystick.jpg!

I like to think about Vivec's relationship with mortals as a kind of weird, anxious, narcissism. Don't forget that those who have CHIM see all of existence as the same primordial echo of the Godhead, with different levels of subgradience. I would imagine that to Vivec, nobody worshiping him would feel like falling out of love with yourself, and also your arm is asleep.

Exactly how Vivec's divinity has any causal connection with Landfall, however, I'm not sure about.

Yeah, I think I have it mixed up. He was keeping The Ministry of Triuth afloat with the faith of his followers right? And the second eruption of Red Mountain is related(debatably?) with this as well?

Landfall was not the Ministry falling on Vivec (the city, not to be confused with the mortal or the god). It was http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoqQenQ9C7Q.

But seriously, Landfall is a future event that Vivec warned about to save us from the ensuing destruction.

CHIM is one of the paths to the final way which is Amaranth (or as recently speculated, Z).

The depth of the lore is compelling enough for extracurricular research.

@ ALKENO
I was really hoping you'd say something amusing about occupations. Success.
