Coming back to Oblivion - Quest mods?

Post » Wed Feb 17, 2010 1:47 am

So, coming back to Oblivion. Haven't played in ages...and I have a new upgraded PC to experience Oblivion with :D I'm going to use a LOT less mods than I did before though (I got "crazy" with over 200 mods at once...was a bit much). So all I'm taking is OOO (gotta have that if I mod anything), qarls graphics mod, plus natural environments. Various sound/music mods. New land mods. The better city mod. Darnified UI...those are the main ones. So in summary, I want to improve sound/graphics/some gameplay pretty much, but not modding the game nearly as much as I did. I think I still need to find lava/water mods as well, don't have those yet. Oh, and I have midas magic spells to add a bunch of spells to the game...and Unnecessary Violence. I'm pretty much done with downloading gameplay mods, might get one or two more if they seem like they would fit with what I want.'

and yeah, I already got OBSE and BOSS and oblivion mod manager...those are obvious :)

And as for new land mods, I already pretty much got the land mods I wanted. So I'm fine with those.

Now to the topic, what are some good quest mods I could take? I got The Lost Spires already. But that is the only quest mod I have at the moment. Not up to speed on the latest quest mods, and forgot which ones I had before. I know Lost Spires is a big one though.

Thanks :)

Ayleid Steps and Kragenir's Death Quest for sure. They're both huge quest mods and really change the game experience. (Kragenir's especially adds tons of new dialog and quests to NPCs that aren't used for much in the vanilla game, while Ayleid Steps adds a large quest series, new dungeons, and a new transportation system.)

Integration is my favorite quest mod, and normally would be my top recommendation, but since you explicitly said you don't want too many mods, it may not be the right choice. This is because it requires using two fairly significant overhaul mods, LAME and RBP (although, personally, I would never choose to play without those mods anyway). I still say you should play with Integration -- it's like a second expansion to the game -- but I can understand why you might choose to skip it.

LAME actually sounds good. I like stuff that improves magic :) I make exceptions to those :) And RBP I've used before. I'll get those as well. Thanks :)

(edit)

Like the quest mods suggested so far as well :) They sound good.
