How did you guys meet Morrowind?

For me, I met it after Skyrim came out (:/). What happened was that some of my friends were excited for 11/11/11, and I was like "What's the Elder Scrolls?" and my friends were like "dafuq??" and "Kill this man!". So then one of my friends let me experience Skyrim on their laptop. I instantly got svcked in. Then I had to move. Obviously, from the graphics on Skyrim, I knew my laptop couldn't run it (it is the lowest of the modern "low ends"), so I decided to try the first of the Elder Scrolls franchise: Arena.

Arena was very head-aching. The graphics were bad, the control system was bad, and I couldn't get out of the beginning dungeon. Same thing with Daggerfall. Clearly, I had underestimated my laptop and decided to try Morrowind. At first, it bothered me, graphics, combat system, and communication wasn't as good as Skyrim's, but when I got used to it and payed attention to the plot, I loved it.

I have completed Vanilla Morrowind/Tribunal/Bloodmoon once, and now I plan on doing it with mods.

Reply, tell your story, enjoy. :)

Morrowind was quite new when I first played it in a friend's room, so I didn't have the old graphics feeling. Pretty much the opposite, actually, I loved the graphics by then. When my friend went out for a weekend (we were living in the same house) I stayed in his room playing non-stop until he came back. From then on, I had to get my own copy. I don't know how many times did I finish the main quest, and the number of characters is just too large to be countable.

Now I only do DiD characters with loads of house rules (has to eat and sleep, cannot carry more than 2 large weapons and a small one such as a dagger, cannot carry more than 20 potions, stuff like that). I am loving every second of it!

In early 2001 I was browsing the games section of Amazon looking for a new first-person shooter. Amazon recommended this game called Morrowind. I'd never heard of it. I'd never heard of the Elder Scrolls series. I was strictly a shooter gamer back in those days, I'd never even played a roleplaying game in my entire life. After looking at some of the screenshots and reading about the game, I pre-ordered.

A friend mentioned on 10/11/11 that he was excited for Skyrim, which was being released the following day. Outside of the Sims and a few first-person shooters, I wasn't big into video games, and thus hadn't heard of this Skyrim, of this Elder Scrolls series. I spoke with that friend - and a few others who'd bought Skyrim - a few days later and they all gave it a big thumbs-up, so I decided to try it for myself. I wasn't disappointed - I was amazed, captivated and utterly obsessed. As a matter of fact, I still am to this day!

Then earlier this year I decided to try Oblivion. And again, I wasn't disappointed - I was amazed, captivated and obsessed all over again! Oblivion amazed me just like Skyrim did, and again it continues to to this day.

So after a few months of Oblivion, I decided to take another step back in TES Time and try Morrowind - the game I'd heard so much about. And just like its successors, Morrowind amazed me. I've had it for just over a month, I believe, and due to real-life business I haven't had as much time to play it as I'd have liked, but when I do play it I tend to lose hours on end. The Elder Scrolls series seems to have a trend of wowing me from the word go - perhaps I ought to try Daggerfall one day?
