I had an encounter with a ghost

Seriously, it's a dybbuk. Just ignore it, and it ought to go away; look for someone new.

Power out = no heat = heaters turn off = metal contracting due to change in temperature.

That's what I was thinking.

The door opening was just a coincidence. You said you're used to hearing creaks and creepy things, so your mind will immediately jump to the supernatural when something happens that you can't quite explain since you didn't investigate. Granted, you didn't have your Ghostbusters vacuum, so you made the right choice in running. And I wouldn't have been in the basemant with the lights out to begin with. Too creepy.

I prefer to just call Ghostbusters. If something's strange in my neighborhood and don't look good, that's what I do.

Anyway, I'd love to live such situations. They're good for inspiration on creative content. Good for brainstorming. :D

I'd be scared out of my wits! I'd like to say I dont believe in ghosts, but when something freaky happens you cant help but believe a little...

One night I got up to use the bathroom, i got realllly light headed and felt _really_ cold, and I mean, my body temp really dropped. It brought me to the bathroom floor, I couldnt even stand up my face was too the floor, I woke my dad up and he took my temp, it was below normal temps and that was after I was warming up! A few mins later I was fine and went to bed. Sure it could have been something medically related, but I still think its a good possibility it was some kinda ghost that hit me...

Our king's uncle got scared by a ghost when he was little. He was all alone in the castle. His parents abroad and his siblings somewhere else. And something was walking towards his door. Then it walked right passed and then left. Turned out to be the nightwatch :P

I totally have one in my house. It flips towels in my towel rack. When I turn around I always just get to see the towel land back on the rack, swishing around slightly.

Incidentally, it feels very awkward to bathe considering that there's some creature flipping my damn towels in there.

Tell me about it. Fred pitches a fit if I don't let him slam the refrigerator door a few times during the night,
Also he keeps stealing my socks. And makes the front door spontaneously lock. For the lulz. >.>

EDIT: I'm also about 95% sure he is behind the Mystery of the Perpetually Flooded Apartment, since the plumbers are always stumped as to where the leak is coming from.
...Well, except for that time when I came home and there was corn all over the carpet. Turns out the sewer main ruptured. ;3;

Well, obviously the people that say you didn't experience a ghost know for sure, because they were right there.

No, I don't think I've ever heard something like that. I do think I actually saw one once, and another time I heard a faint flute playing on the Antietam Battlefield. But these should be dismissed, cuz you know, I'm just crazy.

There is no such things as ghosts or for that matter anything supernatural and all of it is a illusion of the mind.

I don't understand how some of you people can be serious in some parts of the forum but when the word 'ghost' is brought up you all become practical bullies. Seriously? I don't think all the stupid comments about zombies or aliens or whatever was necessary in any way at all.

That's just how it is here. I've been trying to find somewhere on the net where I can have enlightened discussions about the paranormal, but have failed miserably so far. If I can't on these boards, then there isn't that much hope left. Besides, it's hard to find a chat or something where only skeptics hang out. I mostly find myself in rooms full of believers who flame me for even bringing up natural occurrences. On here, it's the exact opposite.

In fairness a lot of the zombie stuff was just messing around - I doubt any of us actually think it'll happen (at least not in the undead sense), it's just a fun thing to discuss, and plan and stuff. I don't remember any UFO conversations

I've always believed that this was one of the best forums because all or most people here are mature enough to discuss serious topics. The way I see it, if a forum harasses someone for bringing up ghosts, then the forum's people are not yet matured. I have no idea what the big idea is anyway..

You know, it just occurred to me who our forum's 'hardcoe' skeptics (the "if it hasn't been proven, it's not real" types) remind me of.

LOL yeah because the believers are so much better than the skeptics, who equally refuse to see the other side of the event. Trying to argue with subtonic usually comes down to
Just let it go, because I'm not changing my mind.

You know, I love how you got that quote from a completely different discussion from a completely different thread. That and proving me and Pariah's point. :lmao:

But I didn't say "arguing about ghosts." I said "arguing." You're equally close minded in everything you talk about.

Ugh, reported. I never thought I'd do that in a million years. Not on here. I need to find a new place to hang out.

Blocked as well. I think this is the second time you've gone too far with me, and I'm not the type to wait until strike three.

I'd really prefer if the topic of the paranormal be banned completely here.

You'd prefer other peoples opinions being completely ignored here rather than being spoken. I don't know how that's not close minded.

And to add one final thing:

How am I the closed minded one here? I'm sitting here in a topic full of folks who are quite literally flamebaiting the ones who show even the slightest hint that they think that such a thing as ghosts may possibly exist, trying my best to explain that I'm on the fence regarding the entire subject matter, and yet I'm still getting a bunch of [censored] from quite a few members. And now I have somebody quoting me out of context to try and make me look like a fool, and of course everybody's going to side with StealthJunkie because I'm just the forum idiot by now. Right?

So fine. Go ahead and ridicule me. I endured it through high school and I can sure as hell endure it from a bunch of people on an online forum. No matter where I go, no matter how civil I try to act, somebody always manages to bring out that raging demon inside me and I'm immediately shunned again. FINE. I don't even care anymore. What's the point? I could go on for the remainder of the 200 post limit in this thread, and the first thing I'd see in its sequel thread is a bunch of posters bashing me from every direction.

Forget it. Just forget it. I've just about given up on even logging in here anymore. Not if it's going to be like this, even if it is a rare occurrence. It shouldn't happen at all in the first place. If you've got something productive to say to me, then say it. I'll unblock your next message to see it. Only the next, though.

And for the record, I want the topic banned because it spawns so much hate. Not just in me, but in many members here. All I ever see is flaming. Nothing extreme, but it's always flaming. Why even bother letting us discuss it when we can't do it in a civil [censored] fashion?
