Item found in RepCon HQ vanishes from companion's inventory

Walking up a rubble pile on the 3rd floor of the HQ building, we discover two dead Brotherhood of Steel soldiers. They are both wearing T-51b Power Armor and I'm like, "score!" *ahem* sorry guys, I'll bring your tags to the scribes. I (respectfully) looted one of the corpses and suddenly remembered that power armor is dead weight until you can wear it (can't remember atm if it is actually powered this time and carries its own weight in vanilla once you can wear it.) I hand it to Boone and got a message saying something about "companion can't wear this faction armor", and I think "great! they fixed that bug where you hand your power armor to a scrawny ragamuffin from Bigtown and she can wear it without training." Fast forward an hour or two then I finally find Trade Post 188 where Veronica is and ask Boone to hand over the gear I was making him schlep around, and the Power Armor is not there.

Reloaded a save so I could drop it and get its ID so I could prid it and moveto or additem player, but only got its temp item number not its db entry number and don't remember how to find that info.

But it shouldn't have been incinerated in the first place.

I guess I can live with going back for the one I didn't take (and to be truthful I didn't even see the guy under the wall the first time because the Mr. Handy was demanding I leave so I was in a little bit of a hurry to get to cover before he pulled out his flamethrower) and my companions will just have to make do without it until I find more, if they can be trained to use it at all.

Companions cannot wear Faction Armor, when you give the Faction Armor to them they will simply throw it out on the ground.

Thanks! Silly Boone, what does he think I keep him around for? Certainly not for him to keep stealing my kills. ;)

Edit: I'll go back to find if he did indeed drop it and I just didn't see it, if I can remember where I fled from the bot to before I handed it over.

Yep, when I went back and looked around the 3rd floor a little I found it. Phew.
