so i got 2 combat armor reinforced, 2 ranger helmets, a trail carbine, and a cowboy repeater and i want to reverse pickpocket my ncr trooper and ranger (got them with the ncr radio) so that they are looking awesome with the better weapons plus im giving them 1 hand loaded ammo

anyways, i got the ncr trooper easily but i cant seem to reverse pickpocket the ranger, so i was wondering, is there a way to put the items you want to reverse pickpocket in a chest and have them take them out and wear them? or any other way of getting the items i want them to have in their inventory?

You might try dropping tthe trail carbine and hoping the ranger picks it up mext time you are in combat. Also try raising your sneak skill or using a stealth boy. If your patient, you could also just keep on redoing it until you are successful.

how does dropping items and them picking it up work? im level 28 with 19 sneak and i get 17 skill points per level. with the last 2 levels i think im ganna level locksmithing or something. sneak just doesnt seem like a good skill to use the last 34-35 points on. tried stealthboys too at 12 at night without wearing anything and i managed to put in one hand loaded .44 round but the carbine, armor, and helmet wont work. wasted half an hour trying but i just couldnt do it. funny thing is that i got the ncr trooper equipped with everything on the first try.

Well, the low sneak isn't helping things.

I'm guessing you know how to drop items, or you must hate being overencumbered. So just enter combat with the ranger in tow, and drop the weapon. Hopefully the AI will see that a better weapon is right there, and the ranger will pick it up.

can they pick up better armor that way too? btw i was reading the wiki on it said there was a bug on ps3 where if you kill the ranger and leave and come back, shell be alive again
