Would you like to register the Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

After I install the CD's of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind onto my computer, whether it may be the original game, or any of the expansion pack CD's, this comes up:

"Would you like to register the Elder Scrolls III: (either Morrowind, Tribunal, or Bloodmoon) online now?

Make sure that your internet connection is online before you try to register."

I've always wondered what this means. Does it lock your CD's to a specific computer or something? Kind of like a DRM thing in a sense? I don't know. Curious if anyone know what "registering" entails. Any comments welcome! :)

It's no DRM or anything of that sort. It's just asking if you want to sign up yourself as a Bethesda customer for advertisemants of future products from Bethesda. It's pointless though, as far as I know they never used it for anything and it's been over a decade now since Morrowind was released.

What Freddo said and that was important 10 years ago if you want to have some exclusive news, offers etc, but really who cares with such things these days not me anyway.
