If you really want to know the truth, its tremendously far apart. I have about a year to become a Bio-Chemist at UCLA, and i'm gonna tell you this, the technology we have today is absolutely primitive in the sense of advancements, its only wide spread hysteria that makes it sound as if we've somehow play'd gawd.
Getting off topic, but do you know how we "cure" disease? Simple we as humans have never directly "cured" anything, we inject a mutilated version of the virus that we managed to contain, and inject it into ourselves, where then, our body takes over, and HOPEFULLY it creates a antibody.
As for nanites? Living artificial and sentient cells capable of awareness? Not in our century, or even possibly the next.
Strength mode is easy to duplicate, we've successfully moved solids through piezoelectric conduits, in short this technology is how printers work, you force electricity and the certain material bends. So through research and application, yes we could make artificial muscles but!!! we still wouldn't have a fallible way to secure it in to humans, we have bones as a support system, in artificial muscles, we only would have our muscles to lean against, which unfortunately, just created a bottleneck.
As for
speed mode the application is simple, put a fire under your a$s, i guarantee you'll run twice as fast.
Cloak, sure why not, but it would still involve nanites communicating between more than every synapes we've ever shot in our life or even still 10xs more complex than what our nervous system could accomplish, establishing a network of almost zero latency and instant communication, all why carrying a resolution only match'd by each microscopic nanite shifting its hue and shade. Each simultaneous nanite telling the other whats on the opposite side of the surface, once again, requiring some technology that's not accessible. Followed by the nanites shifting thier angular positions and glowing in different shades, similar to how LCD's works.
Armor, well, once again, you can have one or the other, the implication that nanites can phase shift their structure is based just on what we cant achieve with our tech, as for a molecule structure dense enough that is capable of deflection? we have that today, we can actually manufacture solids from the ground up, but as the video said, its so compact and so dense, its bulky and cumbersome, but we still cant bend physics to our likeing, say, when Alcatraz was shot by the 105mm shot by the BTR in the trailer, lets just say he survived.... in reality, energy transfer would have kicked in and he would have been flinged across the city at unreasonable speeds.
So i will stick to sci-fi and just be happy someone is creative enough to think of it.
This tech is so ahead of its time it required Alien Input, think about it.
