omod trouble

Post » Sat Aug 04, 2012 5:07 am

Hi all,
im not very good when it comes to modding and seem to have silly problems that i cant find a fix for, ive recently got a new operating system
win7 and so am trying to get oblivion back the way i want ie FCOM but last time i had help from a friend so im struggling.
Now dont laugh at me for being dumb but the omod files ive downloaded are not showing up when i go to create omod, they also dont open when i double click them it asks for which program to open them with.
so basically I cant access my omods with modmanager can anyone help? Does what im saying make sense?

Thanks for reading

My 1st thought is where did you install Oblivion at? Even though I use WinXp on my computer, I know that you should install Oblivion in the root directory not the programs directory. Like: C:\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion... Anyone correct me if I am wrong..

Raed is right about not installing the game in the default directory especially if you have Win vista or 7. Also instead of using OBMM use Wrye Bash instead. It would save you tons of headache by learning to use Wrye Bash. Here's guide by alt3rn1ty: http://www.oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/35230.
