Ashlander support of a rebellion?

Post » Sat Aug 04, 2012 10:10 am

I've been coming up with a RP on the Fan-fic forums, and I was thinking of having a Dissident Terrorist movement in Vivec that plans to create a new Resdayn and overthrowing the Tribunal.

My question is, would the Ashlanders support such a movement, or would they see it as just another group of annoying "civilized people."

I'm assuming this is an alternate universe scenario, correct?

The Ashlanders, as far as I can tell, have zero interest with any interactions with the settled people besides Trade. They have faith that the Nerevarine will overthrow the Tribunal - which he eventually did.

New Redsayn does not equal "The old ways of the dunmer".

New Redsayn is just that, new. The Ashlanders seek Old Redsayn.

It's set in the 2nd Era, shortly after the Akaviri Invasion, and yes, alternate universe.

I guess another question would be, was the Nerevarine Prophecy around at that time?

The Nerevarine Prophecy was around, in some form or another, after the death of Indoril Nerevar. New clauses were added, such as being foriegn-born, but it was still a commonly-held belief.

As for the Ashlanders- possibly. They've been pushed to poorer lands since the Tribunal and Great Houses arose, and would support such an engagement against both the Tribunal and the Great Houses, should victory against them be possible. However, greater emphasis is against the Tribunal, whom they see as killing Indoril Nerevar and turning their backs on the old ways.

The Neverine Prophecy has been around as long as Nerevar has been dead.

Alandro Sul brought the prophecy to the Ashlanders immediately after the Battle of Red Mountain. It's been part of their beliefs for thousands of years.

So, what if there was actually a potential Incarnate amongst the terrorists?

potential incarnate wouldn't matter. For the Ashlanders to follow him, he would have to be the Neverine, because there have been plenty of false incarantes.
